After Cowboys rookie running back Tony Pollard had a solid outing in Saturday night’s preseason game, Jerry Jones suggested that Pollard might have made Ezekiel Elliott‘s attempt to get a new contract a little bit harder.

Asked about Elliott after the game, Jones said, “Zeke who?”

Later, Jerry laughed it off as a joke.
But that quip, me Mateys, speaks volumes.
I look for a long hard haul in accommodating Zeke in Dallas.

Personally, I think he’s been a complete embarrassment and is a large reason we get unwanted attention. Jerry is having to babysit a grown man that he’s paying millions to. Believe me, I’m no Jerry fan either, he’s an embarrassment as well but at least Jerry owns the team and is therefore responsible for the distractions he creates.

And I beg to differ, sitting out is non verbal negotiating through the media.

There's a lot of truth here, but the Cowboys were playing without Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Amari Cooper, too. So maybe it's a wash, I don't know.

People get way too excited. Jerry was obviously trolling the media for clicks. He's an entertainer. That's what he does. He was clearly kidding, and made it entirely clear that he was. You never know, but I sincerely doubt Zeke is dumb enough or touchy enough to get his undies in a bunch over this.

How many other rookie RB’s made 25 million their first 4 years? So now every player that thinks their the best has the “right” to sit out after 3 years? Hell, why not 2 since these contracts aren’t worth the paper their written on.

LB’er is a much harder talent to find than RB and more critical IMO. I think Jaylon should hold out next year and LVE has already shown how good he is, maybe he should join him. Like him or not, Dak isn’t making near the money as his counterparts for what he’s done, he should sit out this year as well.
