LOL. Yeah, we know. We read about it every other day. You don't like the QB's. Got it.

Rush is still #2 and Dak #1. And, Rush hasn't looked as bad as he did last year. White looks the same. Horrible.

Cooper Rush stinks. He's like a 3rd QB on a bad team.

Tony Pollard can scoot.

The End.

There's the sum total meaningful review of Saturday's dressed-up practice session.

It's long been true, but never more so than now. The preseason is a complete, utter, absolute, unapologetic, pure money grab that offers no meaningful football purpose whatsoever. It's 3 hours to identify 1 or 2 guys that can play on the punt team. Nothing more. Both teams could have named 50 of their 53 opening day roster players in May.

The Rams left 20 of their 22 starters in California. Dallas was without Zeke, Cooper, Tyron, Lawrence, and Jones, and played the rest of the meaningful guys for a hiccup. Then it was a battle for last place in the Big Sky Conference.

The NFL has to stop this. Why show the world your underpants for just for a few dollars. The owners are pimping these preseason games out to the unwashed masses purely for profit, because the players get paid next to nothing for these games. Stop dressing these games up like Harry Hines' finest.

No, I don't want an 18-game schedule. But the NFL needs to stop insisting on 4 of these time wastes. The networks hate it. The players hate it. We hate it. The coaches mostly hate it.

It's just a good way to get players injured for the sake of blackmailing networks and season ticket holders into buying into this garbage.
That was closer to 200 words than 4.

Yes, have a training camp. But when a team doesn't play 20 of 22 starters in BOTH of the first games, that tells you how little value the preseason games area to a team.

Players stay in shape year round now. They don't work offseason jobs. Teams need to practice, but the don't need four games to play guys they're going to cut anyway.

College football doesn't have a preseason. High school doesn't. Why do the pros need this?

I haven't really decided if I am on board with cutting Pre Season games down yet. Still giving it some thought. But to your point about College and HS, their rosters are only limited by the amount of equipment they have. If you have to limit your roster to 53, then you want the very best 53 you can get and that takes real game exposure to get there.

One thought I have is that if they go to 2 Pre season games is arrange the off season differently. Maybe have a rookie, udfa, FA camp for about 3 weeks with unlimited amount of players and from that group, you can invite 15 players to "Training camp" along with every player under contract that was on the 53 the previous year. That gives you 68 players for 3 weeks to determine your 53 and 10 PS.

Here are the basics of the drives (series) with some starters playing:

Rams Drive 1:
- Rams gain 32 and punt.

Rams Drive 2a: (6 projected starters on defense for Cowboys)
  • incomplete
  • pass 5 yard gain
  • pass 26 yard gain
  • run -1 yards
  • run no-gain
  • pass -2 yards
  • punt (Rams gain 40 yards on turnover)
Ram Drive 2b: (4 projected starters on defense for Cowboys on TD play)
  • Rams go 37 for TD.
  • Culprit on TD appears to have been Safety Frazier.
  • Frazier might not even make the team.
  • It initially "appeared" that LVE was at fault, but on review it appears to be Frazier.

Cowboys Drive 1:
- 97 yard drive for TD.
- Without Martin, Tyron, Cooper or Zeke.

Cowboys Drive 2:
- QB Mike White
Excellent summary! And reassuring!

College football has non conference games which except for possibly one tough game to gain toughness of schedule rankings in the poll don’t count towards conference usually a couple warm up games against much lesser opponents.

Same for High School with non district games. Which don’t count towards district or playoffs.

Most of all except for having a limit of scholarships in college they have no limits on their roster with most major schools fielding 80-90 players.

And that might be the answer for the NFL. Increase the rosters to how many they usually bring to camp which is about 90. Then there would be no need to see these Rookies in live game action to make roster cuts before the season.

These additional 30-40 roster spots would make minimum wage which currently is about 480 grand. That would only add about 15 million salaries to a team. No big deal. It could be even less if you placed a bigger number on practice squads. Have like 75 on active roster and 15-20 on practice squad.

This limit of 53 active roster spots for 16 games is insane with little depth on teams and ultimately doesn’t really save that much money. 10-15 million a year is chump change. But it goes to illustrate how ridiculous roster limits are and nothing more than a budget cut.

If you could trade two preseason games for two more regular season games, why wouldn't you? That sounds like heaven.

From what I'd seen out of our #2 q.b. Saturday nite & didn't like? Was the
( IMO) apparently vindictive punk-*** shots L.A. was trying to unload on him,,,SHEESE! it kinda' looked like L.A.'s defense had stolen page #1 out of Pete Carroll's Seahawks defensive play book, that being: each player rams a large corn cob up the ol' exhaust pooper b-4 kick-off,,, and then run around the field for 4 quarters ,being irritated & in an pissed off agitated fashion ,,,cuz' they all got
corn cobs up de' bums.

What I liked seeing out of the #2 q.b. was him working well with the #15 & #84 targets, I was happy to see marked improvement in his 'game', as compared to his last years preseason efforts.

Every year is the same thing. I can't wait until the start of football season. I watch the first preseason football game, and I am deeply disappointed. Because of the various miscues and penalties, there's no ebb and flow to the game. Then, I find myself not being able to wait until the REAL football season begins.

I love them.

I would be in favor of the NFL implementing some requirements for teams with regards to ps games.
- Set some requirements for playing starters a set number of series each game unless they have injury issues.
- Maybe 1 series in game 1, 3 in game 2, and a full half in game 3.

I would not want to force Tyron or Zack Martin to play if they have a sore back; however, the Rams completely not playing starters should not be allowed.
brb, all starters on the injury report for "back spasms" and "sprains"
