And God still loves you, can't you love Zeke!!!!! Lol
I think Elliot's a knucklehead I think he trips over his own Ego like you did in the 4th quarter against the Rams. Nobody talks about how many fumbles he would have lost lucky to get them back . how we couldn't make it to the end zone last season because he was too slow. Really we only had one good season from him. He could be the best. He's not even top 3

That has no teeth, the players know that the new deal erases all past transgressions. All is forgiven.

Some assume Elliott wants them to lose without him and have to crater but what if they show they do not need him? He gets traded or outright released and is free to do his own deal.

glimm, I am of the mindset that he might want out and this as much to get them to trade him as to get a new deal. Is he happy in Dallas? Is he happy being a Cowboy? Is he happy leading the league in carries every season and being on a team so dependent on him. He equates that to years in the league and making millions, less might be more in his mind.

When he got drafted 4th by Dallas he won the lotto. First he was awarded with a 4th overall contract then he was able to be plugged in behind a highly talented oline. There are only a handful of teams who can match up to our talent level on the line.

He may feel he made his mark and is ready to go elsewhere, but even studs like Lev Bell and Zeke are helped tremendously by thier supporting players.

I think of Steven Jackson and how amazing he would have been had he been drafted with a team that didn't rely on him and him alone. Im sure there are tons of examples, but in any case if this is a situation Zeke wants out of, I doubt he will be happy in very many places.

Well, I certainly hope he wears something fashionable and the right size and not some clutch purse that looks like a wallet in his hands.
He's actually a Franciscan Friar and Director at the Pontifical University. His purse goes well with his brown Habit.

A bit disrespectful even as a joke? Probably. But probably no worse than holding out when you’re still under contract for two years.

Holding out from training camp while under contract is a hardball negotiating tactic. So he can’t get too bent out of shape if Jerry plays hardball back.

Personally I would prefer Jerry not make the little quips like that.

I will add: I wish both sides would get a deal
Done already.
no need to read the other posts, this is spot on and how I have felt

Lol, trust me, no offense, but god doesn’t love me. AND NEVER!

I didn’t like the pick in general and didn’t care much for him coming out of college. At one point, I had hope that he would grow up once he became a professional athlete so I reserved judgement, he quickly dashed all hopes of that. I even softened on him a bit after the DV “evidence” came out and he hot screwed by the league but since then it’s been all downhill and there’s no going back. You can’t change a leopards spots. This right here was the icing on the cake.

And, JJ has repeatedly stated that Zeke is the engine that makes the Cowboys go.

It is a sad commentary that today's social-media driven society has no sense of humor (I had wine for lunch :) ).

I don't see any reason to believe Zeke wants out of Dallas. Wanting to be paid more doesn't necessarily equate to wanting to leave.

All valid points but the rules have not changed since EZ signed up to play in the NFL.
.
So he and his agent were aware of the ramifications going in.

"Even the dumbest RB knows more carries = more possible injury."

So why is EZ so adamant with the "feed me" motion.
Because it draws attention to him and I can't stand that gesture. I am not saying he doesn't want the carries but he wants to be paid for them what he thinks they're worth.

Lawrence at 21M, Prescott at 33M and Cooper at 17M vs 3M for him, does not compute. And he did not bring this up, they did. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be holding out but they started this in the media, just like they did with the QB and then planted that he was asking for 40M to make him look greedy.

I want him to holdout because I want to see the team for real without him. If they struggle, then make him the highest paid RB because it's evident there is no discussion about the team MVP.

I actually think the team might play better without him. How many times do you take himself out of the game last season. and at the worst possible time. I would love to see them turn Prescott loose. We no longer have a young defense that we worried about exposing. Yes I would love him on my team he's a third-down machine. But he's not the entire team like most people think. I think we actually lost games because of him last season. Yes I know one player does not win or lose a game. I just don't think he's the Great running back he could be that everybody else thinks he is

This is new ground being broken and there will be others building on it because of that option year for 1st round picks. Why does that even exist?

This is going to bring that up as a point of contention in the CBA because a team can use that and two tags on a player and if he gets a bad injury in any of those three years, he's vulnerable. He is only guaranteed for that season.

If you were a player, would you not consider the possibility of a career ending injury. Especially if you are in the business of making contact with larger men? And let's not forget, since 2014, a Cowboys RB has led the league in rushes four of the five seasons. Even the dumbest RB knows more carries = more possible injury.
That's still funny to me. A team with an offensive genius needs his offense to run more than anybody else to work. Even with everybody's favorite Romo Garrett ran ran ran. Pathetic coach

 Now Zeke costed us games? This place needs to start screening people before letting them post.

Elliott's a knucklehead. Make no mistake about that. Elliot sometimes is an embarrassment . Everything I said is actually true. Whether you like to hear it or not. You don't think his suspension cost us games. Come on are you that tunnel vision maybe it's you that shouldn't post until you can read and comprehend

I agree Jerry shouldn’t have said anything but it’s peanuts compared to what Zeke has done. Not only has he disrespected Jerry, but the entire organization, in ways much worse than openly talking about contract negotiations which again, he basically is by sitting out. Why is it ok for a player to sit out because they don’t feel they are being paid enough but not for an owner to talk about it? Everyone knows why he’s sitting out, does he really need to say anything? As always, Zeke started this, not Jerry.

I couldn’t care less about out performing his contract. Does Jerry get his money back if Zeke isn’t regarded as the best rusher in the league next year? Would Jerry have got any of his 25 million that was guaranteed to Zeke if he didn’t play up to the Cowboys standards? The answer is no and no, therefore he shouldn’t be able to cripple the entire team because he feels like he deserves it.

I think LVE did a hell of a job as a rookie and outperformed the pay he gets for where he was drafted, would you support him sitting out this year? When does it stop? When exactly do you think it’s ok for a player not to show up for work when he’s under contract to do so? Honest question.
To answer your questions...its okay for them to do it for the same reason I can ask for a raise and look for another job if I don't get it, any time I want and my employer can fire me at any time they want. Players get cut all the time for not performing up to their contracts, and sometimes even when they do, just because the organization no longer feels they can afford them. CAP cuts happen every year. What's good for the goose and all that.

Yes, I would also feel the same way if LVE did it.
