Im thinking as this progresses Jerry might want to make an example of him and inflict some old school point of principle ethics on this entitled young man . Jerry has paid his dues to get where he is and I don't think he is going to tolerate being strong armed by some young buck with no ammunition on his side but Jerrys general kindness towards his players .

Jerry may show him that mistaking kindness for weakness is a big mistake in Zekes situation and to Pollards credit he is helping Jerry and the team prove a point .

Nobody is bigger than the best interest of the team you were given a very fair offer in light of the fact you really have no bargaining power so get ready pigs get slaughtered
Fingers crossed!

These young ones are always looking for a reason to be butt hurt and accuse somebody of not being sensitive of there feelings . All while not living up to there responsibilities. Jerry is like 50 yrs older than Zeke and grew up in a time when men were men and didn't have to be handled with kid gloves
What hilariously ironic is that it’s not like Zeke is known for being some kind, classy, soft spoken gentleman. He’s known as punk who likes to physically bully others and has even spoken out publicly and negatively about his college coach after a game! Now his feelings are hurt and HE feels disrespected?! The bully got punched in the mouth and can’t handle it.

To quote part of the great Mike Gundy rant “Who’s the kid here”?

To me, by supporting these guys sitting out and breaking their contracts it seems like you’re supporting the player more than the team, is that right?
Nope. If you look at my history I've said repeatedly Dallas shouldn't sign him for what he wants as they have all the leverage. He sits out the season he loses a years salary he can never earn again. It's a year lost. If he sits out 2, he loses 2 years and Jerry tags him. He only stands to lose....unless Dallas starts losing without him and Jerry caves, it's all a huge risk on his part.

Do I support the players more than the team? Nice swipe at my fanhood but no, ultimately I support the team above all but I'm able to remove myself from the fan part and realize I'd probably do the same thing if I led the league in rushing 2 out of 3 years and saw a guy who didn't just get a huge contract. As a player your body is your business, and it has a short shelf life. Make what you can while you can.

Problem is he signed a contract , made a commitment if he wasn't satisfied he should not have signed at that time . Jerry made him a very competitive offer he should take it and get to camp . His off field antics cost Jerry money and Jerry isn't asking for it back . What price do you put on not making the playoffs and having an opportunity to play for a championship .

Do you think owners should be able to cut players for CAP reasons? They have a contract too...

It goes both ways, I see just about as many posts criticizing Jerry for his comment. Perhaps that was just “negotiation posturing” and it seemed to have worked. I promise you Zeke feels disrespected or he wouldn’t be sitting out in the first place.

Well it was a poor choice of words by Jerry even though I think he really was just joking. He gave Zeke's team a fastball down the middle so they could do what they want with it. But Zeke's camp's response was calculated, just like Zeke's holdout itself. So it's not really about disrespect, it's about opportunity in both instances.

Why do people make this argument?

What the owners are making isn’t the issue. Some people realize this is a capped league and bad contracts hurt a team. Some think paying a TB a huge contract isn’t a wise move.
I never said it was a wise move to pay a RB a huge contract.

It wasn’t a swipe at your fan hood and apologies if you took it that way. I was honestly just thinking to myself what a pleasure it’s been debating with you without having anyone get personal or “disrespectful” (gotta use that term lightly now) which can happen often around here. It was a serious question and thanks for the honest answer, I don’t agree but I respect your opinion and responses.

I guess that about settles it, FOR NOW ;)

Hard to argue with that :)

My bad. Sometimes things are taken out of context in text. I'm not immune to it. Good talking to you man.

Zeke put his business out there when he chose to holdout 2 years early.did he think nobody would talk about it or ask about? It's one of the biggest news story in the NFL.

On the bold, you dang right it is, and Zeke's camp wants it to stay that way. The folks who'll get asked about it all the time are Jerry & Co. while Zeke lets his agent decline to comment or do what he did here to keep the drama going and ensure Jerry & Co. get asked about it over and over. Cowboys drama is actually good for Jerry too so I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was orchestrated, lol.

I think his agent is sweating, I think he knows he screwed Zeke..
Bro. I have been thinking the same thing. The 3rd year of your rookie contract. No player does that. His agent started from the rookie signing where they wanted 16 million up front.

He has no leverage now other than our FO running there mouths saying they have the money set to the side. JJ needs to start implementing the fines. If he holds out then use it all against him. Let him sit for 2 years.

I know this will never go this far. He will be signed in the next week or 2.

sure if I was Zeke I'd probably not like hearing that, but knowing how much Jerry had my back I'd probably have to assume it was a joke of some sort. If it's true zeke and his agent were offended by this, then they are snowflakes.

An over reaction if he just read that one line. Haha

The bigger joke is Zeke and his agent. The Cowboys and it's fan base should feel dissrepected by Zeke's timing of asking for more money.

Why should fans feel anything? Zeke hasn't cost us anything yet except maybe a few carries in preseason. There's still 3 weeks before it could potentially cost us anything. Fans are freaking out over a "could be" that hasn't actually happened yet. It's fan anxiety that's fanning these flames. And the media thanks you for it, lol.
