$30M+ a year for the 19th best at his position, or $15M a year for the best at his position?

Zeke is better, hands down.

But we can play Pollard and still be a contender, though we wouldn’t be as good for sure.

Dak really is an average QB, but we have nobody to replace him so we go from contender to out of the playoffs.

It’s basic supply and demand, regardless of quality.

Amazing how Dak with Cooper in the lineup, completing 71.6% is called average. So unless he completes 80%, he is average.

The dude is young, mobile, big as a linebacker and wins games. There are 16 teams who would drop 30mil+ in a heartbeat for his services. This BS that he's not "quality" at the most important position in all of professional sports is crazy.

Dak is not the 19th best QB. I would imagine even most people who don’t really like Dak as a player would say he is better than 19th.

Beyond that, you can’t disregard position. The position they play makes a huge difference in how much they get paid or are worth. That’s a reality of the nfl player market. Supply and demand is a fact of life.

I don't know that Dak is worth 30M+ a year, though that may just be the going rate for a top 15 QB right now. If we don't pay him replacing him will be a significant challenge. People forget how painful it was during the years between Aikman and Romo -- some hated Romo but at least he could actually play the position unlike so many we had before him.

Jerry isn't going to go through that again at his age so we are going to pay him a big number. Dak's biggest weakness has been anticipation and that seems to have gotten better based on what I'm seeing. Add some wrinkles to the offense and we can probably live with some continued inaccuracy.

There are not 16 teams that would pay Dak $30 million. You would be hard pressed to find one team.

For the record, I am not anti-Dak. His highest value is in Dallas. His best leverage is there is nobody to replace him and he is correct. His leverage isn’t what other teams would pay him.

Pollard is not going to be as good as many fans think he will be. There is too many high expectations being placed on him without any evidence that he can handle starting RB duties in the NFL. He couldn’t even carry the starting RB load in college. It looks like people are buying in on Jerry’s sales campaign .
