If there has to be a cap and everybody cant fit under it what choice do they actually have

Right. So we expect players to have to honor their contracts but not the teams? Seems like those contracts are worth about as much as the paper they're written on.

Forgiveness is more about not letting it eat at me internally than doing anything for Zeke. Seriously, Zeke doesn't give a damn what I think. On the bright side, I'm on my way to Whataburger. :)
Lol, that will never get old!

So knowing his shelf life it’s crazy for him to ask for a new contract considering he’s out performed his rookie one? Dude is being run into the ground looking to secure his future. .
That's the problem with the Zeke situation. Despite his deal being 3 years old his fully guaranteed money is still top 5 for his position. His signing bonus cash advance before ever having an NFL practice was more money then Le"veon Bells combined 6 year NFL salary......

Zeke got a 65% cash advance on a top 3 money deal and now he's refusing to play on it even though the cash has pretty much all been paid........ (it's a d-bag move and he can't claim he's playing for peanuts or that the deal is unfair)

Kind of ironic that just a few months ago people were worried about Zeke not playing and assured me he would be suspended because Roger hated the Cowboys and that Zeke did nothing wrong by pushing the security guard.

Now people are worried that he won’t be playing because HE decided to sit out and people are supporting him doing this with 2 years left on his contract. Huh.
Zeke's the man!!!!!!! We can't win without him!!!!!

"Babies" would be truly being emotional about this but this is just an orchestrated ploy to keep this in the press. It's not foolish. It guarantees that Jerry, Stephen and whomever else will continue to get asked about negotiations by the press. Will that speed up negotiations? Maybe not but it can't hurt.

They were going to get asked about Zeke getting signed anyway. Crying about disrespect over a joke doesn’t change the dynamic.

Well actually it does. It shows that Elliott and his camp are the ones getting nervous now. One party is joking and letting the process play out, the other party is crying about disrespect in the media hoping it will somehow tilt the scales in their favor.

You lapped it up but most will not. It reeks of being desperate.

Per Mort at :espn:

Funny that his agent is claiming that he's still in Los Cabos. Did he fly back already?

If anybody is being disrespectful, it is Zeke. Jerry has bent over backwards defending his stupid behavior and then he decides to hold out with two years left on his contract. Zeke needs to grow the hell up.

It's stupid, I think they're sweating.

I am not sure about sweating but they are playing chicken with a guy in Jerry that has pushed back in the past, even if it was a mistake.

I think the Jones’ have zero issues starting the season without Zeke if he won’t come off his demands.

I wonder if his agent was thinking about all the things the Cowboys did for him to keep him from trying to get suspended which ended up having anyway but how they supported him throughout all of that and the latest episode and pulling the girl shirt up and I'm sure there is more to come I hope not but if I was a betting man I would like some money on it

You do realize the owners agreed to allow players to do this right?

It doeesnt matter, and the players allowed the owners to own their rights as well. He can holdout, doesn't mean it isn't disrespectful to his teammates and owner. Especially when you continue to make headlines for the wrong reasons.

HEY HEY! Where ya been man?! I came dang close to searching other threads looking for you, actually was just a wee bit concerned.
Oh, don’t do this to me @Corso not here, not now. Don’t publicly disrespect me like this!

You can’t just expect to dance in and out of my life like a moth around a porch light on hot summer night and think it won’t effect our relationship. I thought what we had going was more than just a flash in the pan, it was more than the shallow, sexually charged relationship myself and @Ranching have. I’ll give you 24 hours to respond in kind or I’ll be forced to take it to the next level, and trust me, you don’t want that. Or maybe you do ;)

On the bold, you dang right it is, and Zeke's camp wants it to stay that way. The folks who'll get asked about it all the time are Jerry & Co. while Zeke lets his agent decline to comment or do what he did here to keep the drama going and ensure Jerry & Co. get asked about it over and over. Cowboys drama is actually good for Jerry too so I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was orchestrated, lol.
In which case serves as a distra tion to your teammates.

That’s the facts. He out played the contract but it’s a rookie deal. This should be dealt with in the next CBA.

For whatever Zeke winds up signing for, I'll look weak and entitled all day. Then I'd pay bodyguards to kick whomever thought I was weak and entitled out of my night club, lol/

Doesn't change the look.
