$30M+ a year for the 19th best at his position, or $15M a year for the best at his position?

Dolphins and Bengals, sure. The Jags have a SB MVP who signed a 4 yr $88 million contract.
The Titans absolutely love Mariotta and Dak isn't tall enough to play QB for Denver (lol j/k)
who, by the way, also signed a former SB MVP and spent a high pick on the position.

Don't put any stock into sports radio stations. They may have more access in some cases but that doesn't
make them smarter than us. They get paid to fill air time.

The Bucs sold on Jameis?

The Bucs weren't mentioned in the post I was responding to.
I'll say this though, if Winston can't excel with Bruce Arians, he never will
with anyone else. Arians has a long list of QBs that claim he was pivotal
in their careers.

That doesn't really apply at QB, because almost all of them are paid more than they are worth.

After the next two seasons (Not really sure what you mean by next two years, but also not sure the difference matters) this whole group is either a FA or eligible for extension:

R. Wilson
B. Roethisberger
A. Rodgers
C. Wentz
M. Ryan
D. Prescott
K. Cousins
C. Newton
B. Mayfield
S. Darnold
P. Mahomes
D. Watson
J. Goff

That's not even counting guys like Brees, Brady, Rivers and Eli who could very well get $30m on short deals, or other fringe guys like Trubisky, J. Allen, and Jameis. There are guys on that list who are going to make darn near $40m (Mahomes, Baker, Darnold).
The fact you put Russell Wilson on this list who literally hasn't even played a down on his new deal shows me you don't have a grasp of the market.

Then you ended the post mentioning Eli and I knew thrn you were joking.

Good stuff.

What are you talking about? Russel Wilson is making that, and is going to be making that in 2 years, so it doesn't matter if he has played on that deal or not. I don't think Eli will, but you never know what a QB-needy team might give for a year or two.

The point is, there are a lot of teams who are going to be paying a QB $30+m. Just because you can't think of more than 5 doesn't mean that I don't understand the market...

In two years Russell Wilson would be have one year left so he could get another extension. The one he was wrong about was Wentz. In two years he'll just be starting his four year extension.

Rosen just looked very good for the Phins. N they gave up a good price to get him. 2nd, I think.

DEN just signed Flacco and drafted Lock.

I've already done this exercise, and I'm not sure Dak would bring much in a trade at present. We'd hv to wait and see how the QB's those teams have do first.

CIN did just draft Ryan Finley in the 4th, but I hv no idea if he's a future starter or just backup material.

I doubt the Titans absolutely love Mariota. Neither his stats or his won/loss record would dictate that. Bringing in Tannehill "might" also suggest Mariota isn't on rock solid ground.

Or should we say the guy the Rams chose top stop versus the guy they chose to see if he could beat them! We saw how that worked out for the Rams didn't we.

Chose not to show up crap is just so ridiculous. I would love to see all these holes that Zeke missed!

Your lack of confidence in Dak is a mystery. What do you have against the kid? What has he NOT done in only 3 years on the league for this team? A 4th round pick. We struck gold. Is it really that horrifying to you that he isn't Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers at this stage or may not be at any stage?

This is where you guys go wrong - from "lack of confidence" to "what do you have against him"

I just don't get it. All my sensors tell me this kid is special. In ALL the big categories and intangibles that you want for a QB. And he is a dual threat QB.

Now one could complain that he is not a Mahones with his arm at this time or a Rogers. And I don't ever think he will be there. But he is definitely more then capable with his arm and getting better. He was NOT a pocket passer in college and has needed to learn it. His work ethic, confidence, and leadership are off the charts. He will get better at the things he needs to.

Running back is just not an important position in the NFL, yes it is good to have a good running back, but it is a position of luxury:

I know people will bring up how bad the Cowboys were when Zeke was suspended, but the truth the offensive line was decimated by injuries at the same time.

I'd rather pay Dak, because QB is a position of need.

Do I think Dak deserves over 30 million? No. I think the Cowboys should play hardball with Dak, get him to bring down his price all the while looking for a replacement. Obviously that replacement is not on the roster at this time.

However, if the Cowboys win the SB with Dak then I think Dak would be justified in his current asking price, maybe.

I don't think that paying Zeke is in the long term best interest of the team and they should trade him.

I'm glad you mentioned Finley. He's got a shot. It's time to move on from Dalton.
And yes, you got me on Rosen. They did give a second for him. I think Dak is better than both of them
and would be worth the cost of waisting a 4th and even a 2nd (gasp!) for the upgrade.

I've never liked you OmerV... lol

I disagree. My sources tell me that this is a big year for Mariotta. (Is it one 't' or two?)
Tannehill is this ironic backup to an injury prone QB. Just an observation... lol

I'm just messing with you, by the way.

Do ya think Ed has 75 blazers, all a slightly different shade of blue?
Or is it just the same blue blazer, with or without stripper dust.
Speaking of stripper dust, let's talk about that mustache... lol... na, nevermind.

Damn, you are hitting me with the tough questions. I may have to do some research online and examine each jacket. Or maybe just go to the strip club and ask Ed himself.

Pollard is not going to be as good as many fans think he will be. There is too many high expectations being placed on him without any evidence that he can handle starting RB duties in the NFL. He couldn’t even carry the starting RB load in college. It looks like people are buying in on Jerry’s sales campaign .
They do it every year.
