I'm not siding with Zeke by saying this, but let's be honest about why Jerry has supported Zeke. It's because Zeke benefits the Cowboys when he is on the field. Do you think he would have reacted the same had it been Rod Smith?

Its a lame attempt by the agent to desperately hold on to some leverage....its all posturing for the media from both sides.

But that’s true whenever an owner or coach has a player causing an issue... Both Jerry and Jimmy stuck by Irvin back then because he was the heartbeat of the team.
And in fairness to Jerry, he doesn’t just show loyalty to the players when they’re playing, he continues it long after they retire.
You don’t hear many ex players say anything bad about Jerry.

The owner of the most valuable franchise in sports... He can say whatever he wants, he earned that right. Not just for Zeke, but anyone he wants in the organization lol.

People think you get to that level by being lucky, stupid, and drinking Johnny Walker all day... Nothing could be further from the truth. I bet that man sleeps 4 hours a day max.
He may have made a lot of questionable talent decisions... But, the man knows business.

He's not joking with Zeke. He's joking at him. At his expense. Making people laugh at Zeke. Turning him into a laughing stock. That's disrespect, not frivolity.

I agree, I think he has been p.o.ed about it since day one. Zeke's days might be numbered as a Cowboy. He just hasn't earned the right to act like a pristine Cowboy asset like many others before him. Zeke remains an idiot until further notice. Duane Thomas Part Duh.....

Yes it is true, but that’s the point. Let’s not act as if Jerry sticking by Zeke was a purely selfless act and had nothing to do with protecting his investment and helping his business.

I agree that Jerry does seem to build close ties with players, but it all starts as a business relationship, and the business aspect is always part of the equation while a player is on the team.

Well, it’s not that, really. They get more mileage ($$) out of salacious gossip and dumpster fires, ESPECIALLY when it involves Jerry and the Boys. Facts? Integrity? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

As an owner, Jerry has taken every chance to support his players. The list goes on and on, from current players to players from years ago. Zeke in particular, going to the wall for him at personal loss to himself. So I agree 100% with Jerry....it was a little pun in response to the media, and for Zeke to get butt hurt about it....well, tough titty as my Momma used to say.
