Yeah, they both had one gimpy wheel too, huh? It’s OK to lay off your boy Zeke's jock every now and then. We get he’s your fave.

Here you sickos go bringing in someone’s jock. And you know you have no idea what you’re talking about because I’m the one that said Cowboys should let Zeke go instead of paying him. But go ahead and continue to speak on how you have jocks on your mind.

All of these players were offered top 5 money at their position...……….Zeke, Dak, Coop, and Jaylon

Three said no, only one said yes..…..I hardly call that low balling..…...Jerry is right, players demanding to be the highest paid can suck it.
Then build his team without them.

Who are you or I to say what other people should accept? And that top 5 money can be funny money, all that matters is that guarantee. If they get injured beyond repair, they'll cut them in a heartbeat.

That $21 million is market price for a DE with Dlaw's stats...………...so why is paying market value creating fall out?

You cant have it both ways bro, you cant crucify Jerry for wanting players to take below market and then turn around and crucify Jerry for actually paying Market. Me thinks you just want to crucify Jerry regardless of what he does.
If you believe Lawrence is worth 21M, we have different views of market value. But if he's going to pay market value, why call players out for holding him to that market value? Aren't you the one wanting it both ways? Select the ones you want to have market value and have the others be team friendly?

They all have the same amount of money to spend. Funny that we don't hear any other owner bemoaning players not cratering for what he wants to pay. Manage the money and if they can't, don't blame what they created.

Of the three remaining players, Elliott certainly owes Jones a reasonable negotiation. JJ has gone to the mat for this guy multiple times. Certainly that's worth something, right?
No, it's worth nothing. He chose to do what he did because he wanted to keep him on the field.

Reasonable negotiation is subjective. He's led the league in carries and yards per game since he entered the league and he wasn't the one that used Gurley as the starting point. Why do the Booger defenders keep ignoring the critical points? Elliott didn't start this. That idiot went on the radio, after exercising the option year, and talked about extending him and Gurley was the benchmark. Am I the only one that sees the problem with this? These idiots opened the can of worms and Elliott wants to go fishing.

“I’ve earned the right to joke with Zeke. Let me be real clear about that. I’ve earned the right to joke with Zeke.”

Emotions are running high in this catastrophe ,

Logic runs very low at this point...brainless acts by the agent are putting in danger a zeke comeback .

We all love the hardline stances now, but just wait if the losses start piling up. If they want to be the kind of front office that lets talent walk, they’ll need a different kind of coach.

Gotta be honest.

I’d rather sign Byron Jones than Zeke.

And I love Zeke the football player. He’s awesome. I just think when you take into account off-field and leadership and impact of a shut-down CB vs an elite RB in today's game, I’d rather have the CB.

Especially if you can get a return for Zeke in a trade.

Lmao. Byron Jones is average at best. Shut down corner? According to who? Nerds at PFF? You can replace Byron with a spare and you'd hardly notice. Replace Zeke and you notice a big difference. Quit insulting real shut down corners by saying Byron is one of them.

I think Zeke and his agent would have had far better results if they had waited 'til next year to make their case for a contract. That issue alone, got them off to a horrendous start, especially when so many others were due theirs as well. Sometimes, the timing of it can affect things in an extremely negative way. That seems to be the case with Ezekiel this year. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and they'll work something out. We'll see, in any event.
Bully, they didn't bring up the new contract, Booger's loose lipped son started this on the radio. Both of them are used to just shooting from the hip with little repercussions but when an agent hears it, as Romo's did during that negotiation, it's going to be acted upon.

The fact is we don't know if this holdout happens regardless of what they do because Elliott is the first 1st round pick to test the after 3 year rule with contracts. This is new ground breaking in the NFL.

Very true. Zeke has been nothing but toxic off the field. Can't get him gone soon enough!

Nothing but toxic? Lmao. That's cute. Dak is the one with an arrest record actually. Zeke has never been in trouble with the law even once. This board is one of the least intelligent places I visit these days.

I am amazed at the posters that do not see the transparency of this. Why do you think the only player that would have a reason to give a team friendly deal was just done? So Booger could use that as ammo against the 3 players he can't get to budge, primarily his holdout player.

He used that to try and turn the fans in his favor and against those greedy players. The whole thing is a set up, a very transparent one including the press conference.

Let me ask you one question. Which players are supposed to give that team friendly deal? How about Lawrence? Oops too late, guess some other player will have to do that because Booger & Son can't negotiate any better. He gets his but they're not supposed to get theirs? Is that how that works? He uses his surgery as leverage but that's OK?

But some are cheering him on just like his fellow owners since he's heading up their side of the CBA and the first round has been fired, those damned greedy players. They should all be giving team friendly deals.
Why you mad bro??

Or some of us want to see the team win and have seen all but 1 team in the past twenty years do it without the leagues leading rusher. We’ve also seen several of the last SB winning teams do it with journeyman RB’s behind worse O lines. We’ve also seen, and most of recognize, how RB’s are more prone to injury and therefore don’t want to tie up a good portion of the cap on one who is a head case and has been a distraction since day 1, especially with a deep draft class next year.

So the Rams/Jets screwed up by paying their RB’s the most amount of money for RB’s at the time and now we’re expected to make the same mistakes? So if a team gave Blake Bortles a 5 year 250 million dollar contract than that means we should give Dak more because he’s better? Nope.

Some of y'all didn't want a war daddy on defense either. There was a whole "don't pay him $20M per year" contingent on here. Guess the FO didn't listen.

And you don't know what will happen with the Rams/Jets since the return hasn't even begun to pay off yet so how can you diagnose that they "screwed up" before the deals are done or even started? The only thing you have to go on is that they paid them a lot of money which speaks directly to my point that fans don't want to see players get paid for a myriad of reasons. And Zeke IS better than those guys.

What does that even mean? He's earned the right to joke with Zeke? Not in the media, you idiot. What a buffoon. What's this negotiation about? Money? Close, it's about ego and pride because he thinks he's the best RB in the NFL and Booger's idiot son validated that using the highest RB contract as the starting point.

Sorry, you incredibly dense lucky sperm, you don't get to go on the radio and put him above the best and then not pay him at that level. That bragging he did to bolster the company ego comes with a price and you can bet your Aunt Agnes' stash of porn, his Daddy is going to pay it. Booger has already lost this and in the worst way, in the media. That old fool still hasn't learned how to use the media to his advantage.

And he may have just alienated the players up next year and their agents with that shot across the players' bow that won't acquiesce to him. If you don't do his deal and do it quickly, you're not a good Cowboy.

This sounded very much like "show up or be traded."

Jerry is tired of constantly dealing with Zeke-related distractions year round.

Do you think he wouldn't want to be traded? Problem is what team is going to give him Gurley money and give up picks for the privilege. How many teams are dumb enough to pay a RB 15M per year?

The next draft class is the best RB one in many years, why pay any RB for a 2nd contract?

I guess Zeke making the Feed Me motion after almost every run is his way of saying "Mr. Jones, you're running me too much." I'm mystified by all the Zeke apologists saying they've run him into the ground.

I fully realize that Stephen tried to assure Zeke and everyone else that he'd be taken care of in due time, although no time frame was mentioned. I'm surely not a fan of our FO brass saying things that are prone to being misinterpreted. I'm also not a fan of players and their agents assuming things that were never specified by Stephen and Jerry saying what they did. I think they were merely attempting to quell the appetites of players like Zeke who can't await his turn to get rich at the expense of those who are already due for contractual negotiations.

Nevertheless, I'm willing to try to be more patient with this mess, since there's really nothing I can do to change it. Let's see what the weeks that lie ahead have to offer in hopes of a possible solution. For fans to be bitter and bicker at this point is obviously an exercise in futility anyhow. It's up to the FO and Zeke's representation to resolve things if they can. Obviously, as fans, we're helpless to affect change, other than to express our extreme disappointment. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be nearly enough.
