CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Over the years I’ve discovered that fans are extremely critical of everything our front office does. Either critical or cynical. The fans on this site are especially tough on the Jones family due to the long drought of success.

So when I’m reading such positive things about the front office’s stand regarding team contracts, I’m actually more than a little surprised.

To the players: when the fans start siding with the owner over your contract demands, you are in big trouble. That is rare air, maybe moreso in Dallas. When you start to lose the fans, you are in trouble. Time to talk to your agents and find a compromise. Get a fair contract signed, young guys.
Find another team that will pay them, the fans are a necessary evil and they know they'll turn on them like a pack of rabid dogs should they stumble. They could care less about the fans, the TV contract pays their salaries.

The problem with fans is that we are new to this market pricing for players. We were used to they got paid based on how they ranked at their position and that has changed, especially with QB's. And Prescott isn't the first, he's just the first above the 30M threshold, which will become the 40M one very soon.

I'm not turning on him. I think he's getting bad advice, I feel the agent is trying to increase his own stock.
Bad advice or not, Zeke has a brain of his own and he knows the difference between right or wrong.

No. His agent is correct.

Zeke is way under paid.
Do you even know what Zeke has been paid? He signed a 4 year, $24,956,341 contract, including a $16,350,066 signing bonus, $24,506,340 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $6,239,085. During the 2019 offseason, the Cowboys activated the 5th year option in his contract allowing him an addition $9,000,000. He doesn't sound very under paid to me. He is actually one of the highest paid RBs in the league, especially under a rookie contract... it's quite generous under the current CBA rules.

I think the Front Office to include Pro and College Scout have built up a lot of equity over past 10 years...We have a young, talented and winning team. They deserve the lions share of confidence.
Though a losing season...will end it all

I think a lot of people are turning on Zeke. I'm personally done with him and couldn't care less if he ever returns. Greedy SOB. Trade him to Buffalo. Him and Beasley can complain about the Cowboys together.

Teams seem to like to dump their problems or has beens to the Jets and Bills. Might want to be careful here. With the players and high draft picks, one of them might get good.

Jerry has about 18 days to get Zeke his new contract.

Or we start losing football games.

If that's the case we'd be saving a lot of money on Dak too. Provided he doesn't get a contract before the said losing begins.

It’s called being smart. This crap wouldn’t fly with a team like the pats. They’d trade a guy like zeke in a heartbeat.

It’s clear that the players/agents are trying to take advantage of jerry being a “players guy”

Jerry the players guy has made fair offers. Jerry the businessman will not just roll over for these guys.
Yeah bellichek would just tell them all to get ready to play elsewhere bye bye.

He has only played a little over two and a half years of a five year contract. A contract that is paying him $25 million. His agent is as big of a knucklehead as Zeke.

If Zeke wasn't a Dbag off the field people would be siding with him

So does every other individual that get caught up in the money game.
Yes but Zeke is the only Cowboy holding out, hurting his stock with fans and damaging the good faith that the front office had for him to not hold out.

433 current players made more than $25 million on their rookie contract? Can you post the link? I'm pretty sure that is not even close to accurate.

Spotrac.

Click contracts.

Select 2019.

Zeke makes half the money Bell and Gurley make.

Zeke isn't stupid.
