I commented on draft day as well over the next few months. Even a year later.
I did not like they picked him in the 2nd round, I thought they could have drafted another defensive players such as a S. No I did not want Myles Jack either.

I thought they could have waited until the 3rd round, or 4th. But from what Jerry said in the PC yesterday, a GM told him they were going to select him, and that was around 4 picks later. I have not ent back to see what team that may have been.

Any way, I though that loss to GB in the playoffs if we had that S from the 2nd round, that pass to set up the FG would not have been complete. But then again other things happened that that play never should have happened.

So then the reports of Jaylon getting better, I got over it and started pulling for him to get healthy. Well, I was all along since he was drafted even though I did not agree with it at the time.

Now I love it of course. And it shows us that we as fans do not know the slightest when it comes to what the FO is doing even though many think they do. And some way more than others. I know I don't, but as a fan just support them for the most part and hope for the best.
4 picks later was the Dolphins but was the Ravens spot initially

That GB pass was a HOF throw from Rodgers. There was little room for error and to Rodgers credit he threaded it. With that said, I spent some time with Jones ribbing him about it when I et him a year later. He said he was in Zone coverage to his defense. Jones is a nice guy that had good coverage. A great throw sealed it.

A great press conference for a great player. His story is a testament to his will , faith and work ethic. A nice, articulate, young man taking care of his pretty mom!

I am glad Jerry was able to get this one done first.

But if the option is between paying him HUGE money and making the tough sacrifice to move on, I'm moving on. Draft Mason Fine and have him be your QB in 2020. He's basically the next Russell Wilson. Also he went to the best overall school in the world.
wouldn't pay him huge money either and no guarantee you can grab a player like Fine next year.

Best scene from All or Nothing.

So glad he is going to be a Cowboy for many years to come.

:starspin:

I'm not going to lie, I got a little teary eyed watching that. His dream came true, he recovered from that injury and is locked up for years.

Fine could be had in the mid to late rounds next year

he's russell wilson 2.0 ... I've watched every UNT game since that's my alumni school ... a couple years ago we were down 4 at home against UTSA in October with about a half minute left to go the length of the field and he got us a touchdown with next to no time left on the clock. He has it.

no idea who the guy is really to behonest, but if he can be had late in the draft how can you be sure he'll step in right away? Unfortunately we need a QB and if Dak isn't it, you can see it's not easy finding one to lead your team.

If that video doesn't put a smile on your face , you need to have your pulse and heartbeat checked for one..........................

It’s a great video and should make everyone smile...
This and the video of the reaction of the Miami Dolphins fans when they drafted Ted Ginn Jr are my two favourite draft videos

One of the best draft day moments in history.

You know Jaylon Smith is one special person. Even people that hate the Cowboys have no choice but to like Jaylon.

Yeah I noticed when the NFL posted on Facebook about him being signed, the majority of people were happy for him. Usually it's just a free-for-all on people talking smack on the Cowboys.

I'll admit I wasn't thrilled with the Jaylon pick when we made it. No one doubted his ability on the field or his work ethic to get back to there, but nerves kind of do their own thing, and neither doctors nor Jaylon had any control over whether they would come back. Best case scenario: he'd recover to his Notre Dame form and make multiple Pro Bowls, worst case scenario: he'd never run again, and it was completely down to luck what outcome he'd reach.

It was a maximum ceiling, minimum floor bet, and #34 felt like too rich of a pick to be swinging for the fences when other starter-caliber prospects were available. But our owner is an old wildcatter, he went all-in on a gamble and he struck it rich.

Now take the Jaylon pick along with the zeke and dak picks that ended up being such a cornerstone draft for us in 2016.

Zeke 1st round

Jaylon 2nd round

Dak – 4th round

At the time I thought it was a horrible pick. I since changed my mind.
