Yes but Zeke is the only Cowboy holding out, hurting his stock with fans and damaging the good faith that the front office had for him to not hold out.

He is but that doesn't take away from guys getting bad info from agents. Look at what Dlaw was threatening. I bet that was an agent idea too.

And he's manipulating us right now by this constant talking to the media. But people eat it up.

As one former GM said, it's no secret among GMs/owners fans ALWAYS side with management during players contract negotiation but player know fans are fickle. The min he gets his next TD, interception or sack, he's the best thing since sliced bread.

Do you guys understand the NFL just legalized gambling, meaning their revenue is going to shoot up and the new CBA is going to be negotiated in 2020, meaning the salary cap is obviously going to go up as well.

And most disputes are about guaranteed money more than anything else?

And Jerry Jones just bought a 250 million dollar yacht and bought one of the largest US based energy companies within the last year, meaning the guy is clearly getting paid major money...

I mean you can have disagreements with Zeke and the other guys contracts, but man this worship of the Jones family is comical.. this guy paid Jason Garrett, what like 5 million a year for sucking..

What in the world does Jerry's yacht and how much he spent have to do with this?

Jerry is limited in what he can spend on player salaries. So what point are you trying to make here with this yacht comment?

I don’t actually see any of it as positive or negative....surprising. My point was mainly directed at Zeke, Dak, Cooper. When Dallas fans side with Jerry over the players when it comes to contracts, that’s a bad sign for the players. They need to sign or say/do something that keeps the fan base on their side.
You said some fans were positive on the FO in this case. That’s what I was referencing.

Did it work for Lawrence?

No, it didn't. Lawrence came of his Kalil Mack demands according to people with Knowledge. His agent also said Dlaw instructed him to just get it done even though they wanted more.

He got a deal though, right? That means the tactic worked. There's no way in Hades Lawrence was going to get a Khalil Mack deal. You ask for the world and meet in the middle of their low ball offer. People around here were saying "never $20M." He got $21M. So I get trying to make it seem like Lawrence lost. He didn't. And his agent's advice was spot on.

Are you dense....lol his tactics didn't work, according to what was coming out, he caved once him and Stephen met face to face...Stephen got the deal that worked for the team.

I wish I could "cave" and get $21M pre-surgery when people said I wasn't worth $20M and not to negotiate until after I get my surgery. But yup, Lawrence lost and the tactic didn't work, lol. Dense, you say?

Yeah, you're dense . His tactics wasn't what got the deal...lol they were always going to sign him as long as it worked for the team, that's been the case for a whole year....lol

Sure Dre. Sure. That's why they mentioned the surgery during negotiations I bet. Because it didn't matter. Lol. But whatever you need to feel like a player got less is fine I guess.

Every signing a team makes works for the team or else they wouldn't sign guys.

Ah, emotion. The gift that keeps on giving. Lol.

It does not matter if you are comparing rookie contracts to other rookie contracts or all contracts to each other, you need to look a contract average, not base salary.

Base salaries vary by year and don't include the signing bonus.

Example
  • Signing Bonus: 16M
  • Year 1 base salary: 5M
  • Year 2 base salary: 3M
  • Year 3 base salary: 7M
  • Year 4 base salary: 1M
The total contract value is 32M.

The average is 8M (32M / 4 years).
Contract average being the better way to compare salaries is only your opinion and it's extremely arrogant of you to say my way of comparing salaries doesn't matter. I am taking into account how much time in the league each player has. The league obviously feels it's relevant or there wouldn't be a rookie pay scale. You, on the other hand, have chosen to pretend all salaries are based on the same rules when they are not. How convenient for you. Rookie contracts and non-rookie contracts are apples and oranges and should not be compared to each other. By design, rookie contracts are limited. For that reason, it is unfair to compare Zeke's rookie contract to Gurley or Bell's on there average. Playing fair is obviously not of interest to you.

I've never been as impressed with Zeke as he apparently is with himself. Great player and a knucklehead.

I think a lot of people are turning on Zeke. I'm personally done with him and couldn't care less if he ever returns. Greedy SOB. Trade him to Buffalo. Him and Beasley can complain about the Cowboys together.
like Dez people were looking for every reason to dislike Zeke from the start. Running Zeke out has started sooner than expected though lol

As you reminded me, the players are adults and thus responsible for their own actions despite being given bad advice from their agents. In our civilized society, we don't totally exonerate those accused of committing crimes when they use that excuse and we shouldn't except "bad advise" be the scapegoat for these athletes either.

He did get less...lol

Lawrence's desired $22.5 million-per-year deal would be equal to the deal Rams DT Aaron Donald signed recently, and would see him earn $1 million fewer than Bears star defender Khalil Mack.

Spoiled fans.

The worst.

Zeke makes less than 433 players in the NFL.

Cowboys fans haven't had a championship this millennium. They ain't spoiled. Zeke is holding out despite having two years left on his contract. He's the dishonorable spoiled brat.
