Dak will have 3800 yards if amari and gallop and Witten perform. Plus a decent running game

Dak is not elite , no team fears his arm .

How many attempts will he get?

If it’s the same as it was last year, he’ll keep playing damn good, efficient football and winning games.

Overall TDs in the high 20s, INTs in single digits, as usual.

His haters’ bottom lips will keep quivering. Their brows will continue to furrow in a vain attempt at understanding football and basic math.

What are you guys expecting out of Dak this year? I’m not talking about the number of TDs and yards, I’m talking just about his level of play?

I’m expecting Dak to make a huge jump in terms of his decision making skills (timing) and internal clock. I expect him to start carrying the team on a regular basis. I’m expecting him to run the ball several times per game and start hurting defenses and keeping them honest.

I think you are going to see the best version of Dak by far. If Zeke is out I can also see Dak getting killed by a missed blitz pickup by a RB.
Risen has bet the farm on it...

Depends on your definition of what elite is. Most QB's I call elite win a super bowl. Obviously there are exceptions to that.

Dak will have a good season but I'm not sure he can take the Cowboys to that level or not. With or without Zeke.

I reckon we wait until he does before we pay him like one.

Surely that is not rocket science for the powers that be.

Probably depends on who you talk to.

There is obviously a group that evaluates a QB based on wins and losses. For those people, Dak being an elite QB depends on how well the defense plays . . I guess? Since the defense looks fantastic at this point, for those people Dak has a good shot of jumping up to the elite category of QB with the hallowed likes of Trent Dilfer.

For those that evaluate a QB based on how the QB plays, Dak is going to have to improve his throwing accuracy. With this group, he gets a lot of open guys and misses them too often. Others have shown the stats (not just cherry picked youtube videos). Based on what we are hearing out of camp, Dak hasn't improved in that regard but his first preseason game was dam impressive.

I think its possible for Dak to jump up. He might be ranked in the mid teens by most objective people but those QB's are pretty close. A moderate improvement in play could have Dak jump into the top 8 or so of QB's.

Play in TC and regular season games are obviously different in intensity from what we've seen so far. Nevertheless, what I'm seeing from Dak is better all-around play, both before, during and after the snap. In TC, he's getting rid of the ball in a more timely fashion. His recent mechanics are cleaner and his passes are on target with greater consistency.

I'm hoping to see Dak's better performances continue throughout the regular season but of course, that's a story to be told on another day. Whether he's eventually destined to be rated as "elite" or not is yet to be further tested, considered and determined. No premature conclusions will be determined here. So far, so good.

Wow talk about high expectations! lol
I’m expecting him to run the ball several times per game and start hurting defenses and keeping them honest............ the jones boys dont want him running
so you can forget this. It is why I say they dont use him right.
They and JG want him to be a pure pocket passer, and that isnt who he is.
They did the same thing to romo back in 2008 or 9.

The main thing is quicker better decisions, and better accuracy on passes. Can he do that? I have no idea.

I think it depends on whether or not 21 is in the backfield

Dak will be ok regardless but those numbers will only get better if zeke plays

That said those 2 are both on my list greedy bastiges

I really think so, Dak isn’t a quitter and has a great work ethic. Just look at what he did with Cooper last season when he finally had a number 1 target. Give him a full season with Cooper, an improved Michael Gallup (who I think is going to have an outstanding year), Cobb and the rest of the support cast, it looks like he’s ready to really break out into elite category. Here’s to hoping anyway.

If I didn't think Romo was an elite QB, how can I put Dak into that catagory......he's more of a system QB, he needs a lot of pieces around him to be successful in this league, he's not a Brady or a Brees or a Rodgers that can win games and elevates secondary talent around him, that's not a knock on Dak, he's a good QB, but just not elite...He has intangibles, he's a leader, take command of the huddle, tough to bring down, good runner, throws pretty well rolling out, but he also has limitations, holds the ball far too long, throws off his back foot far too much, push type throwing motion, not the strongest of arms, misses a lot of reads, forces balls into double coverage too much..I rated Romo around 12 spot just outside the top ten, I think Dak at this point in his career is around 17-20....

I expect Dak to be a better QB this season. Having a full season with Cooper and having Kitna will help Dak. Looking forward to this next game against Houston to get a better feel of his throwing and decision making. We wont see any major steps till the season starts and the new wrinkles in the offense is shown.

That will always be up for debate in most people’s minds. But really.....who is to say definitively?

Unless he goes down the field like Brees and is clutch like Brady, wins playoff games every year.....he will probably be viewed as a 2nd tier guy.

It's only up for debate places like here. Outside of the fan base it's universally accepted Prescott is a fraud. No one's questioning whether he can become elite. They know he can't.
