Are you frustrated that Zeke is holding out or because he has 2 years remaining?

He's holding out because he's frustrated with his contact. Period. There is no reason to quantify it in different ways. He wants more money. That's it.

Because if it's really only the 2 year part that's getting to you maybe take a look at this. Better to understand a situation before lashing out:

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ay-should-be-tied-to-draft-slot-not-position/

If this was his last year I doubt he gets all this attention, but as it stands he's taking a massive cut compared to his peers and market value (the term used around here to justify highest paid salaries for average players) when he enters his 5th year, a year he has no control over if he were to meet or exceed expectations, which he has.

Just saying...
I'm frustrated because he has no one to blame but his lame but excuse of a players union. So many issues in today's NFL and a lot of it is because this union is just terrible. Hopefully this next CBA this union will actually negotiate a good contract for it's union members.

Not frustrated at all. I'm exhausted having to be a fan of his. I don't really care if he remains a Cowboy or not and it's not because he is holding out. It's the totality of everything we've had to deal with since he was drafted.

Not frustrated at all. I'm enjoying the extreme reactions.

Yeah, I just want the season to get here, and they field a team of the current players on the roster. And se what happens. We could, and probably will be pleasantly surprised. But until we see Pollard, or Morris :banghead: play, I think many will be a bit nervous. I know I will be, but then again if Zeke is there, I still would be, as we have no idea how this will be with Moore calling the plays yet.

I also said a RB alone should not depend on it, or did you selectively miss that part?
But Zeke makes this offense goes, and until Dak shows he really can carry the team. For which he did against the Giants last year without Zeke in a meaningless game.
but until he shows that on a consistent basis. Then yes that window may be closed or in the "process" of being closed. Until proven otherwise.
I didnt selectively miss anything. Just trying to understand your definition of a super bowl bound team, which you call this team, that somehow loses all hope when a rb goes out. You said the window closed with him out. As great as he is it just means we have too many significant weaknesses for a rb to be the sole reason the window closes.

On one hand, some players who would be set to be FA's in 2020 should sign now, so they can get a nice signing bonus. Especially if they want to really slug it out with the NFL over CBA terms.

Cause what happened last time was that the non mega rich players started to put pressure on Smith to cave in so their paychecks would start coming back.

I doubt neither side wants to pull a NHL 2005 where they miss an entire season, but if the players want to make some owners get nervous they can't have the guys who have yet to make it big/spend like fools, start to cave in.

I want the best team on the field. I also understand it's a business for some first. Unlike most it seems I'm ok with that.

As I said, we seen this offense mostly goes as Zeke goes, just as in the days with Emmitt for the most part. Remove them, chances go down.

I've been frustrated with Zeke because I don't see Zeke trying to be the best he can be to put himself and the team in the best position to win. Some may see overall yardage as a barometer that he has produced good enough to not warrant criticism but I see someone who should be performing at a much higher level. Zeke leading the league in rushing is pretty damn good, I would just like to see what he could do if he would combine a great work ethic with his gifted natural ability. This holdout doesn't change my mind about him.

I'm frustrated that not even two weeks after the Jones' helping him escape suspension for a stupid decision he made, he's now holding out with two years left for more money.

I didnt think there was a chance of this happening, but he might just force himself off this team, which would be incredible!

I just don't like seeing this be the #1 topic on talk radio and TV day after day, its gotten old. Everyone is speculating and no one really knows how this will turn out but the Cowboy haters are loving it.

I am frustrated with the tone deafness of Zeke. He is a talent no doubt, but he plays a position where many many many teams are successful without a stud RB. There are very few teams in the NFL these days that are going to pay Zeke what he thinks he should make. He's a knob off the field who is another mistake away from a long suspension.

But you're ignoring market value as well since his fifth year would be considerably lower than what RBs are making this year and even lower for 2020.

Lol. Name em. For one he’ll still be a “rookie”

market value only applies to free agents.

additionally he’s been paid more than all but like 8 running backs since he came in the league

If Zeke's agent agrees to have Zeke report and finish his remaining 2 years, the Cowboys would likely bump his 5th year pay to the same as the player referenced in the article (DeForest Buckner).

They can't actually change the 5th year option itself, but there are ways they could give him the extra money.
