"For Garrett's sake"?

What a joke!

You're going to cave in and capitulate to their demands to save Jason Garrett's ***?

Good lord!

If ever there was an example of "two wrongs don't make a right", this article is it.

Agree, but JG isn’t under contract after this season. If Zeke doesn’t play for us again we probably miss the playoffs and start a coaching search. So their fates may be closely linked.

Despite what we fans think of JG this team and its players seem to believe in the guy.

Any coach would fight to have all his ducks going to war, especially if his axx is on the line. But I doubt he has that kind of pull with Stephen when comes to contracts. He couldn't save DeMarco Murray and yes I did try......

Garrett’s behind is on the line?

Good

Bout time

Exactly. This article does nothing but reinforce what we all know. Jason Garrett is entirely player dependent.
Other than Belichick, what coach isn't player dependent? He's just not star dependent but he is player dependent.

Where has "believing" gotten anyone?
Not to the SB or even NFCCG but they have won the East 3 out of 5 and made a hell of a turnaround last year and I thinkm the coaching staff and players would be proud of that. Disappointed in the performance and outcome in LA but one game does not define a season unless you are the 18-0 Pats.

None to the extent that Garrett is.

Other teams can lose a player or two and survive. Garrett and the Cowboys lose one? The wheels fall off.

No coach in the league is as player dependent as Garrett is. None.

And all it took was mortgaging the next year 1st round pick.

And firing the offensive line coach Garrett hired.

And minimizing the playcalling of the OC Garrett hired.

Other than that? Great job.

Playoff games do. By their very definition.

"The Cowboys contend they've put a "top-5" offer in front of Elliott, but he's arguably the best running back in the league, meaning their eyeing of Le'Veon Bell's contract -- that includes $35 million guaranteed -- doesn't mesh well with how team exec Stephen Jones initially proclaimed the starting point for talks with Elliott would be the contract on Todd Gurley. For reference, Gurley's deal included $45 million in guaranteed money, and that's a $10 million difference not easily shrugged off."

Now Stephen's like, "Never mind that Gurley comment. Bell reset the bar." Like his daddy, he just didn't know when to keep his trap shut. :muttley:
