Tank is leader of the "Hot Boyz,'' Dallas' defensive line's self-administered nickname for year ago. He and his teammates are mystified as to how the San Francisco 49ers are now nicknaming themselves the same.

Same way it went from, "How 'bout them Cowboys?" to ,"How 'bout them everyone else?"....but when you think about it, the name is better suited to a group from San Francisco.

According to Xavier woods they call themselves “purgers”, like from the purge movie, and he said they play the purge theme at the start of every meeting. That’s much better than hot boyz IMO

LOL I bet like 95% of the people who hate the nickname have no idea about the obvious origin of it. In the late ‘90s/early 2000s, the Hot Boys were a very popular rap group.

Maybe if they had s better name , they would have been more popular and more people would know about them. Hot Boyz sounded gay way back then too.
