He should take it. Texas has no state taxes, California does. I'd be curious to see the numbers, but I'd bet it is really really close. Couple that with incentives, it may even exceed TG's deal.

He should NOT take it.

The deal has to be at least 10 million OVER TGurleys deal.

The best get paid like the best.

I agree. And it appears that contract is already a waste. They are regretting it.

Zeke is younger and is very durable. I would be fine with 13 million per year and a 3 year contract. Or at least the ability to get out after 3 years with no dead money.
Well sure, we'd all be fine with a contract that Zeke would never agree to.

Why can't we just give him $10M right now, and have it immediatley hit the cap?

I really hope Zeke has a haircut by the next time we see him...

Zeke better play possessed and Dak better not overthrow Gallup 20 times a game..

Do I like that he's holding out? Obviously, No. But I think he has a legit case for doing so.

He's been the best RB in the league for 3 years now. Should have 3 consecutive rushing titles.

RB's careers don't last as long as other positions. This is a fact.

When you're a RB who's been the best in the league for your entire career, and probably only has a max of 5? 6? years of peak performance left, if that, you deserve to get paid.

RB's get screwed in this league.
If he has a max 5-6 years of peak performance then the Cowboys are stupid for extending him at all.

Just a few weeks to go and the season starts. I can’t wait. We can complain about the actual games and player performance.
:lmao2:Oh, this is so much more fun. The season will be anti-climatic!
But, wait. Of course, we can play, "I told you so," if Zeke gets hurt or suspended again (God forbid.)
Remember the movie, Rat Race? Office pools will have side bets on salary hold outs, suspensions, etc.
Bring on the season!

The offer was as simple as this... "This ship is sailing with or without you. Come aboard, we are expecting you... Miami or bust! You know you want a part of that." No raise, just come be part of the history we are making this season. As a Super Bowl champ, his name will have so much more cachet. Then he can get the sickest contract deal ever made by a RB.

If you’re already making him the 2nd highest, just pay the difference and make him the highest.

I don’t want to lose an elite talent over a few million.

If he remains in your future plans, you pay the man. If not, why offer up to the 2nd highest?

My only problem is, when somebody else gets their money (Gordon) is he happy being the 2nd highest paid? Or is this a revolving door

Screw that, if I am the Cowboys I tell him he has by Monday to sign the new deal or it's off the table and he can play under his existing contract the next 2 years.

They have been more than fair with him in regard to this offer. I personally think I'm giving him a deal that is top 10 money over the next two years and that increasing to top tier money over the next two to three years

Zeke and Pollard in the backfield together, while Kellen is shifting players and showing misdirection..

Can't wait...

I must say...………….that would be scary with the firepower we have in the passing game.

LOL...…...you have no idea whether he is going to take it or not. My gut tells me Jerry will never pay him more than Gurley.

Jerry will pay, or Zeke will sit.

Zeke only making 3.8 this season. He can afford to sit .
