It really does make sense current he's a businessman he's about making money the more the NFL makes the more he makes. He figured he could know how to get around it

Exactly ........ he got his 3 Superbowls and the Cowboy fans have been lining his pockets ever since ........ and then he just cries "my hands are tied ..... these greedy players are making it so we cant afford to make a championship team" ........ then he fake cries at a few players retirement and half the forum falls for his bullcrap.

The consensus seems to be that Gurley's contract is an outlier. I tend to agree. It's a shame Stephen Jones didn't realize it sooner, or just keep his mouth shut.

In fairness, Stephen is kinda dumb.

And Bell’s contract was a big favor for the Jones.

Lmao what? You make no sense. Who is bragging about anything 3 rings?

My point was, if you actually had any reading comprehension, was that Zeke is tame off the field. The 90s Cowboys were actually criminals off the field and were loose cannons. Nothing Zeke has did warrants this overreaction.
Apparently that went right over your head, not surprised. This isn’t the 90’s and no one cares that Deion and Irving were doing blow and hookers over two decades ago. That was then, this is now, stop minimizing what he’s done by trying to compare it to something players did 25 years ago.

Knocking out a DJ and pushing over a security guard isn’t tame, but go ahead and deny he did any of it because he wasn’t charged....blah blah blah...but the point is these are different times with different technology and different standards. Tame or nor, Zeke is a liability because he’s too DUMB to know how to act in public and can’t control himself.

I’m not saying I was a saint, I sure as hell wasn’t, but once I realize my future would be effected by my current actions at the time I grew up. I also didn’t have millions of dollars on the line and a team depending on me while I was sitting out with 2 years left on a contract I signed. He’s been spoiled his entire life and needs a wake up call but people like you continue to coddle him like the baby he is so he’ll never change.

One thing that gets lost in talking about the outstanding Cowboys contracts is the fact that we're not really players in veteran free agency. If we're able to sign and develop our own and don't have to pay the actual free market rate for our core players--because that's where the real premiums are paid out--we should be able to pay our own tier 2 players competitively. We'll lose a few guys like La'el Collins or Hitchens, and we'll be able to replace those guys with draft picks at the top of the draft as there won't really be that many holes in the roster in any given season. That's worked ok so far with the OL contracts we've done. We just need to hold our water.

We do need to sign one of Dak or Cooper before the deadline, though. I don't want to go into next year with only one tag and both of those guys hanging out. Which is why Amari is happy to sit tight right now. He has a big year, Dak gets the tag, and he's a free agent and will make a killing. If we get Dak done, and if Julio Jones extends, then Cooper's agents should finally be willing to talk. Before that happens, though, they have no incentive to deal. Dak's representation, too, understands that they have leverage there, too, since the team needs to get either Dak or Cooper done to have the tag to use on the other next year. The team should have to pay Dak to get that leverage over Cooper, and I'm sure they don't really want to pay a premium for that.
Good points

Off the field antics? Please. He doesn't even hold a candle to what the 90s Cowboys and even the 70s Cowboys were into. He got suspended because of a witch hunt by Goodell with zero evidence. This Zeke is so bad off the field narrative is ridiculous. He lifted a woman's shirt at a parade. Not the smartest thing but meh. A security officer fell over a rack that made a lot of noise. Yeah Zeke was intoxicated but another minor incident. Oh, and a speeding ticket. Meh.

Wake me up when he really actually does something of note that can warrant the label of being a loose cannon and so out of control off the field like so many want to claim.

Heck, Dak has actually been arrested. Zeke has not.
I think it was on the Herd today where Colin kept saying suspensions. I only remember one and it was a witch hunt.

:lmao::laugh:

77 receptions, 304 carries, 2001 total yards, over 5 yards every time he toted it.

Don't let your feelz make you say silly things. It's a bad look.

Many teams would draft a rb 1st round to ensure that production.

He failed at knowing how to get around it. Still hasn't learned how to run a SB caliber team within the salary cap era. Him offering Zeke Top 2 overall RB pay, even though Zeke is still under contract for 2 more years, proves it. I won't be surprised if LVE decides to hold out next year and demand top LB pay even though LVE will still be under contract for several more years. Then other players are going to start doing it as well. What a mess caving in to Zeke this has created. Good luck keeping a quality playoff team in tact that way.

So he would be the best if he was on a better team? lol Like the Cowboys Oline sucks? 21 TDs last year isn't just dumb luck or a great line. 19 the year before.

Except Gurley isn't Mike Tolbert. You talk like he don't extend drives or move the chains AND score on top of that. Elliott certainly has value, but it doesn't make him the best RB in football.

Of course he’s not. I’m just saying it’s a very poor way to compare them. Especially considering one has the second best coach in football (best offensive coach) which gives him a boat load more chances to score. The other has......Jason Garrett.

Agreed. Similar back but not as powerful or quite as good. Still a quality rb though for sure.
He has plus receiving skills, but NE didnt really take advantage of it. I think they will more however. I can see them not wanting to use a rookie much in the passing game

Has there been any response from Zeke's agent denying an offer was given? If not then this is more likely to be legit because he would have denied it by now.
