They and the agents are getting worse and worse. D-Law, Dez. Seems like Dak. Wait and see how the quiet patient Cooper acts next year.

Cooper Rush will take what we offer him and like it!

And how are the agents getting worse? Are they holding guns to owners' heads to make them sign contracts? They use the leverage they have as always just like the team would and does. Worked for Dez, worked for Lawrence. I think people just don't like seeing players squabble over and then get millions.

I completely agree. I think that Jerry offered him a deal that would have taken care of him short term, just so that he wouldn't have to play for his Salary in 2019, with the intent to redo it when the cap allowed for more. I think Jerry would have made Zeke the highest paid RB, in every way, if he would have just been patient. I don't think it's a secret that Jerry liked Zeke, although, for what reason I can't imagine. He's been a PITA since he got here but that's here nor there. I think it's clear that Jerry like him and Jerry looks after his guys and not just on the Football Field or while they are playing. Jerry helps them after. Jerry gets them into business opportunities that can lead to long term security after Football. He's done that for a lot of his guys, over the years.

Now, I don't think that happens. While I haven't seen the details of the contract, what's being reported is that it's a step below Girley's in every way. If that's true, that's not a mistake. That's a message. Zeke may have screwed himself here. I mean, can't be sure but I would not be surprised at all.

Maybe Zeke doesn't plan on being in football much longer and wants his payday sooner than later.

Maybe Zeke realizes that his body wont take a lot more.

Maybe Zeke saw how the Cowboys treated DeMarco Murray after his record setting season.

Maybe Zeke wanted to get paid while there was still money in the cap to do so.

Maybe Zeke believes the hype about this team having the talent to be serious contenders and wants to use his role in that to leverage a new deal.

Maybe Zeke just doesn't want to be in camp.

Whatever the reason, this is where we are. Get an acceptable deal done and get him up to speed. He doesn't have the quickest starts to his seasons.

This is very sad news. He had 2 years left on his contract. Jerry caved. This will cost us a key piece...

I used to be a big fan of Zeke. No longer.

Maybe he should have never decided to play Football for money if that's what he thinks. Maybe if he wants to retire early, he should honor the deal he signed. Maybe he isn't interested in being the highest paid RB, maybe he isn't interested in being the all time rushing leader, or maybe all of this is a bunch of backed over crap in a brown paper bag, left out in the Sun.

Come on man.

All DeMarco Murray did was sign with our rival and prove us right. Never could recapture that 2014 season and out of the league at 28-29 years old.

Zeke would be an idiot, which all know he is, if he takes this deal. Why settle for second best if you know you’re the best? He’s admitting he’s not as good as Gurley. Don’t let Jerry slap you around like this Zeke!

Exactly. It is all maybes just now. We are on the outside looking in. Everyone needs to let it play out instead of getting all anxious, upset, angry, frustrated or whatever people are feeling. This is not exactly ground breaking stuff here.

There will be a resolution and we will move on. Like everything else in life.

Dallas isn't saying Gurley is better than Zeke. They are saying the Gurley contract was a mistake and shouldn't set the bar.

Zeke is just greedy. As someone else said, there's nothing he can get with top RB $ that he couldn't get with top 5 RB $. Also he's already made a handsome sum from Jerry. Tells me he's not the kind of guy I want on this team. Let him go play on a team with minimal OL talent and no passing game to clear the box. Let's see what kind of numbers he puts up then.
:muttley: The "Reality" is starting to set in and its hurting I guess.....

So glad I don't. Try again.

He had Kevin Glover and Lomas Brown, two Pro Bowlers on that oline. That oline wasn't terrible. Barry just didn't run where he was supposed to or took risks where his talent overcame it.

Full-blown facts!!

And Sanders O line was ranked what compared to the best line in the league at the time?

Thanks for the stats though!
Not sure what his line was ranked but one of those years Emmitt beat him by 15 yards if I remember right. My personal take is if they switched teams Sanders most likely gets the record sooner.
