Hearing and reading that Eagles and Texans talking about a trade for Clowney. Texans need offensive line help and maybe running back, with Miller going down. I hope this trade does not happen.

They actually make the most sense as trade partners.

They have the best OL depth in the league and their GM loves to make bug swings. I wonder if Brandon Graham or Barnett would then become available.

Too bad we didn't keep Chaz Green. We could have traded him wearing a Tyrone Smith mask for Clowney.

I don’t see how they would have enough Cap space to do it with all the big moves they’ve made in the past but I don’t follow them closely nor do I do numbers, so I’m just speculating here..

They would have to rework some deals to get under the CAP since he can't be resigned to a long term deal, which means they would have to clear his franchise tag number of $15.3m.

Right now they only have around $7m of CAP space.

We currently have 19 million in cap space.

There are no strong reports of this. Just enough people speculating that rumors are being developed from that.
Ive seen Jeffery attached to Clowney rumors.

All in all I don't think its the move the Eagles. They have assets at DE and Clowney will likely wind up costing more than he is worth. Possible top 5 money is alot for a player with double digit sack seasons

I wouldn't be happy trading Alshon. I'd be cool with Jordan Howard, Mailata, and picks. I don't think the Texans take that though. I don't see Clowney coming to Philly.

This makes no damn sense at all.......how the hell they can get Clowney AND gain an extra 1st round pick? Hell, knowing the Eagles, they may pull it off......

Man, Howie be Wheeling n dealing in Philly.

Overall, my initial reaction is that this deal would benefit the Cowboys and HOU better hurry up and hire a GM before they go under.

Kinda does make sense actually. Clowney is a 1 year rental so his value isnt all that high. Probably a 2nd or 3rd. If they keep him beyond this year he will probably cost more than Lawrence. Dillard has more value to Houston who absolutely needs to protect Watson then next years first.

Eagles may be able to pull a 3rd comp from Clowney. Would be savvy move by the Eagles. But not a terrible bad move by the Texans either. Dillard is really good

My thinking is Texas is in a place at OT where we were at WR before the Cooper. They are gonna take an OT in the first next. They pretty much dont have much of a choice

Tytus Howard should be their next OLT. Good prospect they just took in the 1st round. They also took Scharping in the 2nd, and have Martinas Rankins, their 3rd from last year who was very raw and may be a viable starter at some point.
