What does Cooper Rush bring to this team?

I will gladly eat crow if Dak tears it up. But he hasnt played a game yet, so for you to jump to this conclusion that he has made massive strides is LAUGHABLE. And I was at training camp, and his accyracy in drills by themselves was ****.

Have a good laugh on me if it makes you feel better. I offered my opinion and guess what -- it didn't cost me a dime! If Dak has a terrible year, I'll gladly eat crow myself, so there's that, too. What he does in practice is one thing and what he'll do in games is another. We'll see. ;)

I hope you are right and I am eating all sorts of crow. I want nothing more than Dak to be a LEGIT top 10 QB. IN todays league that means throwing for 4k yards and about 25+ TDs and 10 or fewer Ints. Dak has played great, crap, crap, great. IMO, if he plays like crap this year(like he did in the first 7 or 8 games last year) than that is who he is IMO. If he plays very well... than that is who he is. This is year 4 for him. I dont want to hear how he is young anymore. This team is LOADED with talent on both sides of the ball. The time is now.... no excuses.

If you really are inclined to pull for Dak to do well like I do, we'd both better hope Ezekiel returns to the offensive lineup very soon. Understand that I never predicted that Dak would be "elite" this year -- to the contrary, in another thread, I made it clear that he would be improved. Being "elite" is another step altogether that will depend greatly upon further development. I'm pulling for the team, not just one man. I assume you feel the same.

Whatever Dak does will also be likely to depend largely upon elements beyond his control. Missing Zeke, Tyron and Zack would constitute something of that nature. Suffice it to say, we're both hoping Dak is successful, if what you've said holds true. That will always be subject to perception. Let's just enjoy the upcoming season. Whatever happens with respect to Dak will seriously affect the team. Let's just hope for what's best for them, OK?

I am 49 years old. I have been a Cowboys fan since I was 6 or 7. I root for the TEAM always. I dont root against ANY Cowboy player. I live in Ca and I go to anywhere from 2-9 games a year. As of today.... im shooting for 4 games. Season opener is now a tradition....we are going to New Orleans, likely vikings game, and I am wanting to go to the Bears Thursday night game. I have fun EVERY season. My enjoyment of the NFL does not resolve around wether or not we win a SB. If that is the only way people have fun.... thehn imagine being a Jets fan, or a Jags fan, or a Browns fa, They have never won a SB.... so does that mean NFL season is miserable for you? I do not get a bonus check in the mail if we win a SB... but I can promise you I will be having an amazing game when I travel. The New Orleans game will be my 32nd wedding anniversary weekend. I want to win that game, but if we dont..... do you think it will ruin my wekend???? lol

If you go back in the archive, of this very forum, there were more than a couple people who thought Dak was a bum - until he wasn't.

True, but they must have at least a minimum of arm strength. Rush does not.

Opinions are just opinions, not facts.

So, on this issue we have differences of opinions.
One the one hand we have yours: Rush does not have at least a minimum of arm strength to be a backup quarterback in the NFL.
On the other hand we have Jason Garrett, John Kitna, Kellen Moore, Will McClay, and Jerry Jones who obviously believe he does have at least a minimum of arm strength to be a backup QB in the NFL.

I tend to lend more credence to their opinions, but if you have to find fault with a backup football player, I guess Rush is as good a target as any other backup.

Scouts agree w/ me, and they outnumber those guys!!! They stated that "Rush has a lollipop arm".

I don't target players. I read prolifically, watch tapes, watch games, and come to conclusions. There was really no use for that cheap little insult flinging. Not sure why you went there.

Backup? OK, I can give you that.
