Do you let a 24 year old game changing DT go to make your malcontent RB happy?

So let’s not pay the guy who’s led the league in rushing a couple times and instead overpay the oft injured guy for a what looks to be a contract year bump in production?

Heck to the no

Let Jacksonville have him and wish him luck

If Collins becomes a beast I sure would let him go for Zeke

We’ve been drafting The trenches extreamly well the past 7-8 years and I would trust that we could draft an impact lineman

Yes...because the 24yr. "game changing" DT has not consistently shown that he can 1) stay healthy and 2) be a "game changer". This "stud" DT will be looking over his shoulder due to the 2nd rounder the team just picked with their first pick in the 2019 Draft.

Comparing those two players is like comparing Case Keenum to J.J. Watt. Both start in the NFL at important positions BUT that is where the comparison ends. One is universally seen as a Top 15 player in the League while the other wouldn't make a Top 120 list. Same with the "malcontent" RB and the "game changing" DT. One is top 15 in the entire League consensus-wise and the other is M. Collins.

Should Collins stay healthy and play well, wish him God speed and accept the Comp pick the "game changer" gets you after he signs as a free agent elsewhere.

Some of you guys are making this out as if it's Collins vs. Zeke, as a 1 for 1. But it's not that at all. It's the fact that you're probably going to lose several of these really good players such as Collins, LVE, Byron, La'el, Brown. Awuzie, Lewis, Woods and a host of others I didn't mention, all of which who's contracts will be up in the next year or two. Signing Zeke, Dak and Amari to huge deals will lose you at least half of these guys and I think that's a huge mistake.

Yes you have to have a few top level stars on the team to be successful. But you also need a lot of really good players to compliment those stars to succeed. Teams spend so much of their time chasing after those missing pieces, after they let them walk out the door.

I like Collins but calling him a game-changing DT based on a handful of pre-season snaps is ridiculous.

The agenda against Zeke has reached a new level.

Now, all of a sudden Maliek Collins is more valuable to the team than the NFLs rushing leader who is indisputably one of the best players in the game today.

Maliek Collins. Wow.

And here's another little known Maliek Collins tidbit:

He actually had a better rookie season than Warren Sapp did.

The foot issues and position changes in this defense have stunted that growth. If both of those things are behind him, there's little reason to think he won't excel.

I remember thinking he may lead the team in sacks his 2nd year. After his rookie season many of is thought he may be our most talented dlineman.

 shame isn't it????

Or they have no shame and have forgotten how bad our offense was when Zeke was out.
Before you know it they will be posting cut Zeke and sign the Water-Boy as our new HB.....
Again all this Zeke hate stems from another issue all together and trust me the Zeke haters are right as his new contract will hinder someone else getting his big deal!!!
You don't need to look far just a slight glance below....

M Collins has looked like an absolute beast in preseason. Unblockable. He has flashed throughout his career so we know he has talent. He is playing for a contract so we know the risks there. We also know of the injury history. Let's say Collins goes boom this season. 16 starts. 10+ sacks. Beastly run defense. Going rate for a top DT is mid to high teens. Donald is at $22+ but he is a top 5 player in the game so no comparison. Collins is 24 years old. 24 years old!!!. You can't sign Dak, Cooper, Zeke and Collins. Sorry you can't.

Do you let a 24 year old game changing DT go so you can make your malcontent RB the highest paid RB in football?

Collins playing like an All Pro changes the Zeke thoughts, no?

Thanks in advance for your views.
This will be Crawfords last season as a Cowboy, there will be $$$ to sign Collins. Zeke is just a piss ant!

I'd rather pay a big money deal to a workhorse who's never hurt than pay big money to a big man with chronic foot problems dating back to high school.

We have enough to worry about in the present. Why create future doom scenarios to stress over? Can we ever simply enjoy the moment?

Ty. I was honestly getting caught up in the hype. He’s been injured often. Not a good look. Now he’s gonna ball out in a contract year. Very noble of him.

I like Maliek. If he stays healthy all year and plays up to what we thought he could be, the conversation will end up like it did with Tank, “Why are we giving him big money with a past history of injuries?” Nature of the beast.

I’d like to keep him this year, which undoubtedly we will. Then we’ll get nothing in return. Lol

I am convinced that the defense is what is the better part of this team now. Dallas finally has a real good defense again and it will PISS me off to no end to see them get weaker because we need pretty offensive players. Dallas will win the SB this year as I have predicted and it will be BECAUSE of this defense. Teams with top DLines are just too difficult to handle and should be a top priority to any team. Teams with league leading rushers hardly ever win SB's, except for the 90's Dallas teams. (Thanks to GREAT defense)

We won't be able to resign everyone, but we can resign those 4 and Jones too IMO if we want to. It's part of the reason ET isn't here. We knew what was coming and we have over the last few years put a lot of the dead money behind us and stopped restructuring guys constantly and pushing out their cap hits and we have other moves we can make to clear up space. The guy who likely goes is L. Collins and we prepared for that too via the last two drafts.

On Maliek, I have been sky high on him since he has been here (I just love DL that can play both the run and the pass well), but his main issue has been health. Not just the games missed, but the games he played in while not 100%. If he stays healthy he should make himself some $$$, but will he? We've also tried to prepare ourselves for him leaving if it happens by taking Hill with our first pick this year...but...he certainly doesn't look ready to play right now, maybe at some point or at least by next year.

And what if Taco keeps playing like he has been this preseason. And Vander Esche. And Byron Jones. And Awuzie. And Xavier Woods. And Gallup. I don't resign Zeke if it means that we have to leave the nucleus of this team walk every time one of their contracts expire. RB's are the easiest position to replace.

I could do that with any of them. The contract value is about the same. I would have traded Jaylon for Zeke. And Jaylon is one of my favorites but from a value perspective Zeke adds more value to the team.
