Cowboys getting calls about their offensive, defensive linemen
Posted by Charean Williams on August 28, 2019, 4:13 PM EDT

The Cowboys are deep on the offensive line. They’re deep on the defensive line.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Cowboys have gotten calls from teams interested in trading for one of the team’s linemen.

“We do get calls on both offensive and defensive lines,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Wednesday. “We’ve made that a priority over the years, and it’s a strength of ours, and some teams are interested in it.

“Yeah, I think there’s a possibility for sure that we could move somebody.”

The Cowboys, though, likely will want a draft pick, and not a player, in return.

Awesome. Maybe we can trade Smith, Collins, Collins, Crawford, Charlton, Hyder, etc

OL - I would think it would have to be Joe Looney that's inquired about, you know it cant be a starter and Fleming is only top reserve at OT.
and with injury issues like Martin and McCovern, I would think the team will have to hold on to Sua Filo.

I wouldn't think Brandon Knight or Andy Redmon has much trade value at all.
If Looney is traded ( Pats?) Redmon becomes the immediate center backup.

and DL trade ? Taco would have to be an obvious. .
but who is going to trade for Crawford and that $7 million contract ?
and how much depth are we willing to trade away ?

Someone’s going to make an offer on Taco and Sua Filo. They are too good value right now to pass up a mid round draft pick or other positional depth.

Question for the forum:

Who would you be comfortable with the team trading from either the offensive or defensive lines?
On the offensive line, I wouldn't trade anybody because McGovern is still injured, but I wouldn't mind trading Taco or Crawford for an offensive tackle because with Smith's back issues, I am not at all comfortable with just Fleming as our swing tackle

Not from the OL unless we could get a 2nd for Collins.
DL it would depend on who it was.
Obviously Quinn, Lawrence, Collins, Hill, Woods are off limits.
Taco I'd only trade if the value was a third round pick or so.
Of course, if somebody is willing to take Crawford's salary, I'd be very open to that.
The rest are very touchable if the price is good.

Tough. I'd have said Looney, but with McGovern still bothered by the pec issue I'm rethinking that. He could go to IR. Taco is another thought, but now it sounds as if Jelks is injured and an IR candidate. With the way Hyder has played I think Crawford would be my choice, but I doubt Dallas would trade him rather than a straight release.

Don't tease me!

But in all honesty, he'd be the one guy that I would move.

Save me a ton of cap space, allow me to keep a young guy wth upside, and get something for a player that's soon to b gone anyway.

But "they like him", or so I've been told.
Get a younger guy in there, with less cap hit this year and next.

If you trade Collins, who's playing right tackle then and who's the swing tackle???......the one position on our offensive line that's a weakness is the tackle position's depth, Smith with his constant back problems, and all you have is Fleming as the swing tackle, I'd like to trade a defensive linemen for a quality offensive tackle..

You can't keep everybody. Might as well get something for them.

I wouldn’t this year....next year I’ll see what they’re offering I just can’t see trading anyone right now I don’t wanna go back to the days of one starter gets injured and we have to replace them with practice squad caliber guys

I'd certainly trade Crawford if someone would give me anything for that contract.
