The problem is they just haven't believed in coaches that embrace the chess side of football and thought they could get by without a true #1 receiver with Linehan calling plays.

Our run game has already shown in the past that they didn't need an all world runner for it to work.

2014 Demarco Murray was a 3rd round pick.

2015 we were one of the best rushing teams in the league.

We've gone 4-0 without Zeke in our last 4 games he's missed.

Plus the NFL in general has shown you don't need a 1st round guy to have an amazing run game.

I didn’t say if we lose games it will be strictly because we don’t have Zeke; I said, “If our running game and the offense struggle, not so much.” [as in, Jerry having not so much leverage]

IF that happens, it will certainly put pressure on Jerry to find an alternative to RB-by-committee, with the most obvious solution being getting Zeke signed.

Ok i did another post above about how they started last year, and so really we should not expect to be any better this year.
they started 1-2 , and sure coop wasnt here yet, but dak has not thrown to him at all yet this season, it may take a few games to get that going.
Witten is back, beasely is gone, so really there is no telling how they will start out.
I just hope jerry doesnt think it is all due to no elliot if they get off to a bad start like last year.

No..was on the pregame, which was the best part of last night. Had Garrett, Jerry, Emmitt, Mike Irvin and Marcus spears. Irvin said he was lobbying Jerry to get the deal done, which they showed him and the Jones' yucking it up on the sideline

I don't want Jerry to cave in. Dallas has a history of making absurd contracts that never pay off. I think the problem will be when Zeke does come back he won't be in game shape. In the first game back his rhythm with oline will be off. And likely in the second game he will pull a hammy and then be out another 4 weeks. This holdout is just plain bad for the team.

So they fire SL (many folks fall guy who was the OC that was 32-16 that everyone says is Daks biggest asset he wins) and hire his protege KM who learned everything about NFL football offense from him, KM says they are running the same O not sure how that helps. As for where you pick a back is not important it's what he produces.and there is not any indication anyone on the team will produce like Zeke only wishful thinking. You seem to believe Dak and KM are going to flick a switch and Dak is lighting up the league with his pin point passing and high yardage games and high TD output as the run game is now not needed to win. Should be fun to watch this metamorphosis take place, can't wait.
