agree..BUT I THINK its safe to say he's an upgrade over White. Why not stash him on the PS?
Don't think he's eligible for PS. Two accrued NFL seasons max

Supposedly Kitna is really helping Dak.
Not much downside bringing in Lynch...except it takes a roster spot.

Exactly. And, as you pointed out, Jerry wanted him. It'd also be delightfully ironic to have him backing up Dak when we nearly traded up for him. Makes it worth it just for the laugh about that to me.
and heres some more irony..He played with Tony Pollard I think, when he was a freshman at Memphis. There IS a connection.

Oh, that is ironic too. Seems right to me for him to be in a plane from Seattle to Dallas now. Plus, I'd hate for us to waste a practice squad or, worse yet, a roster spot on White without Lynch having a go at that spot.

Lynch may find himself a role here and has some history with Pollard. You never know when that could prove vital down the road.

Lynch could come in here with absolutely no expectation or pressure..and you never know..he could find his niche. He could be the modern day Clint Longley lol..

I dunno about Longley as, while I have of course read about what he did here, I obviously am far too young to have watched him. However, you are quite right from the standpoint that he has no expectations at this point. He'd just have to do what he does best and improve. He's considered a bust, so there's really only one way for his career to go at this point, and we have the team to help him there I reckon.

I'd say Lynch might be a bit like Mike Moore or Ryan Fitzpatrick. Incredible back up QB if we give him the opportunity. But, abysmal as a starter. That would be perfectly fine by me to have him just focus on backing up Dak and, if God-forbid we lose Dak, come in and keep our season alive. Not a bad way to make a career for him, and good backups are hard to find. If he does well, maybe we can flip him for a pick to boot. Win-win I think.

And besides, some chaps just need to find the right team to succeed. I think we are that team for Lynch.
