I agree with Jerry, if we sign Zeke to a new deal, what if he holds out again?

you already said why is no one looking out for zeke's interest
zeke is not the team
if he is not on the team, i dont care whether he is dead or alive

That's a bit harsh but every day that goes by further cements the opinion I had of him before the draft and continue to have today. He was not worth a top 5 pick because he's a knucklehead who cares more about himself and his ego than anything else.

I truly believe we are a better team with him and doubt we’ll make a serious push this year without him. That’s my agenda.

I also get why he’s holding out regardless if I see the potential damage to this team.
We area a better team with him. With zeke the top 5 teams are the Pat's, Eagles, Cowboys, Rams and Saints. Without zeke we are fighting for that's last playoff spot. We need Zeke to get to the superbowl. Pollard is nice but he isnt a bell cow back, YET. I think he needs a full offseason of strength and weight training sort of like what Connor William's has done. Pollards frame could use another 5-7 lbs of muscle which would go along way for a RB. THIS season we need Zeke

Im attempting to play Devils Advocate here. Is anyone here looking out for Elliotts self interest?

What should we worry about? If he plays out his entire rookie contract it would get him 35M. One FT puts him at 46M. Another at 20% greater puts him close to 60M. What should we be looking out for? That he makes 70 or 80 million? Don't hold your breath.

Are we a serious playoff team this year without Elliott. Can’t go to Super Bowl if not in the dance.

Homers are idiots who are team first and don't use logic.

So you don't want them to pay him based off a scenario you made up in your head?

You sound like someone talking to a kid, these are grown *** men who live in the real world. The reality is that they would've used him up and then told him to go let another team pay him what he wants, but Zeke and these other RBs are just smart enough know to see what's going on. The constant Zeke threads and vitriol towards him proves that ya'll don't really believe in guys like Pollard, Weber, & Morris to carry this team to the promise land.
LOL, according to his birth certificate Zeke is grown man but according to his actions and mentality he is a child. Zeke is also far, far from living in the “real world” and, again, his actions prove that.

The team matters to me more than players who seem to be simply serving their own egos and deep need for way too much cash.

I agree. Even though I am against paying him a year early I cannot argue your assessment. But that doesn't mean it has to play out that way. But more than likely it will.

I think Zeke would have been given a new contract next season. I think the offers presented to him are lower than they would have been because he chose to insist on an extension a year early.

The comparison to other positions and dumb contracts given out by other teams as a justification to do our own dumb contract is bizarre.
Yet Dallas was in the running to try and get him. If you try and think about it... it's not. Why overpay for some positions but scoff at paying one that is a main focal point of your offense? Another example is how crazy defense lineman contracts have gotten. There is a huge contract on Dallas for example with DeMarcus Lawrence.

I just dont understand how some are eager to move on from Zeke. Probably the most gifted RB weve had since Emmitt
Zeke is turning everyone against him w/ his greed and associations and off field actions. Really easy to understand.

That’s a harsh view.

What I’m saying is why should he be bashed for looking out for his own self interest? This is the business of the NFL. The Cowboys aren’t bashing him for it, why some fans?

he is only useful as a player on the team.
at this point, he is a negative.
the front office should punish this kind of behavior and not condone it.
jerry is too generous.
they need to bring in a rb to pair with pollard.
zeke can keep playing with ****** in cabo until week 11.

zeke is just some thug without football.
the only use he has is football.
cowboys are our team.
zeke is just a player.
off the team, he is irrelevant.

Some fans haven't turned on him but I definitely have. Still remember how the offense was last year before we got Coop. Zeke wasn't putting up the kind of numbers you'd expect from a top 5 overall pick. Not even close.

sure the team is better with zeke than without
but not at the cost of dooming negotiations for the line of upcoming free agents.
it is more than 1 year that is at stake here
