Zeke was offered money between Bell and Gurley, roughly $12-14M/yr. More than generous. He turned it down because he wants more than Gurley. Go pound salt. According to rumor, Jerry Jones paid a $2M fine because of Zeke being a knucklehead. Jerry bent over backwards for him and he shows no gratitude.

I like Jaylon Smith more and more and his team mentality. I would rather use Zeke's $14M on players who want to be here like Byron Jones, Maelik Collins, La'el Collins, etc.

Again. The "honor the contract" thing is total garbage.

For example, we signed Hurns to a two year 12 mill deal. We cut him after a year.

Yet no one is crying about how the team didn't honor the contract.

I don't think you understand the difference. In all such contracts, like Hurns', the team is free to cut the player anytime. There may be salary cap ramifications for doing so, but the team was perfectly "honoring the contract" in what it did with Hurns.

Also the Chargers are nowhere close to being a SB caliber team, That most people see the Cowboys as.
Wow dude, you’ve been living in bubble, spending too much time in the Zone and drinking too much Kool Aid.

Almost every power ranking (take with a grain of salt), analysts and sports writers have the Chargers ranked ahead of us to win the Super Bowl. Not to mention Vegas who has them almost 2:1 favorites over us.

The players don’t have a choice when they are drafted.
And the owners know the players who outperform the contract may hold out and ask for more.

And they can do that but if the team refuses to give them a new contract then they have to give up money under their old deal and at best you get a new deal under the teams terms because you were not a free agent.

They agreed to all of this during the CBA so the players were on board with Rookie contracts and Zeke being a top 5 pick still makes him one of the highest paid players at his position.

If I were Zeke I would have you on your knees faster than your ex boyfriend did.
Lol.

Internet tough guy...

I am sorry that NFL contracts baffle you. That is not my fault.

Zeke is signed to a significant contract that will pay him 12+ million this season and next. We handed him 16 million guaranteed.

Get over yourself keyboard warrior.

Is Zeke still under contract for two more years and I don't remember him having those 4000 yards before he signed his deal and given that fat signing bonus.
Who cares? He's gonna get paid regardless what all the naysayers say around here. I wonder how many of those that are against him are gonna stop cheering? Some of you act like it's your money! Lol!!!

Team signs a player for 6 years. Team terminates the player after 4 years. The team didn’t honor the 6 year contract.

player holds out, walks away, doesn’t show up after 4 years. The players isn’t honoring the 6 year contract.

it’s the same either way. The employers can say I don’t want you working for me anymore. The player can say I’m not working for you anymore. Both ways the 6 year contract isn’t honored.

You see we all get it.
But one side of this wants to pretend it’s different to vilify the player while looking the other way when it’s the owner.
Fail.

Please try harder. Go study the CBA. Educate yourself.

Why would I try? It a dang game! It's meant to be enjoyed. There are more important things in my life to worry about. You go ahead and be miserable. Me? I'm gonna enjoy the games, with or with Zeke.

He’s going to get paid on Jerry Jones terms (good) and not his own.

The “some of you act like it’s your money” line is such an ignorant comment. You know we have a salary cap and that is the only reason anyone cares about these contracts.

If there were no salary cap Zeke could make a 100 million guaranteed for all I care.

Wasn't Zeke in college when the CBA was signed?

So another words, it's just how you see it then? I mean, nevermind about the law or the CBA or the Union not ever allowing a team to not honor a contract right? Come on, that's BS and you know it is.

I've explained this numerous times and I'm honestly not gonna waste a day of doing it all over again, especially when you already know you are not telling the truth. If this is what you want to believe, cool with me but nobody is going to go along with you on that ride. You are on your own there.

Yes... He didn’t have to play professional football if he didn’t like the rules that the players and owners negotiated.
And you don't have to watch and get all bent outta shape when he asks for more.

Cry all you want about the CBA.
Keep sounding like an idiot (we know you will) while Zeke signs a contract making him the highest paid RB in NFL history.

you were saying about him having no rights to hold out.

Notice only a few players can do this. If Byron Jones tried this he’d find himself traded/cut.

You have to be at an all pro level and irreplaceable before even thinking about it and your team has to have a shot at a Super Bowl. No one from the dolphins or Commanders is trying this. And neither is someone like Cole Beasley/Randall Cobb who whole pretty good are a dime a dozen.

I’d say all across the league there are MAYBE 20-30 guys for whom this is even an option.
