Until the return of Zeke, expect to see a LOT of Chris Jones out there.

Since a lot of drives will be three-and-out and similar, and the Cowboys will still have one of the top 3-5 defenses in the NFL, it's imperative that Chris Jones has to have a great season doing his job, at least until/if Zeke comes back.

Agreed?
I'ma keep saying it until it sinks in so you can get the help you need. You got Daddy issues.

Absolutely true as well. Not discounting that. Goal-to-go situations, no Zeke so Garrett will call more fades, back-shoulder throws and things of that nature.

I wouldn’t discount our passing game we have a strong receiving corp heading into the season and Dak has looked solid this summer. I could see him very easily throwing for over 4000 yards this season with 28 to 30 TD passes but we need some resemblance of a running game. We can’t be put in a position where Dak is having to carry the offense.

In the seven games without Zeke in 2017, and end of 2018 the Cowboys punted:
3 times
5
5
5
4
2
3

For an average of a little less than 4 punts per game. 3.86 ppg to be almost exact

In 2017 Chris Jones averaged 4.125 points per game. So I guess he becomes less of a critical player without Zeke in the lineup.

Moore is a better OC than Linehan, but none of us lived under a rock in the heart of the 2017 regular season. Three straight games without Zeke, the Cowboys scored in single digits for the whole game. 7, 9, and 6..... total stinkers. Two of those were at home. With the OL starting the season already somewhat banged up, a bottom-15 starting QB in tow, iffiness at TE and albeit a solid (upper half) receiving corps, the offense will struggle to move the ball and score.

yes, but that's not really a variable. LP has always done a clean job there. It's a lot more of a variable whether or not Jones will down his kicks as deep in the field of play as possible without kicking returnable line drives or kicking a touchback when you're near midfield.

I really think Redfern would have been kept if they weren’t worried about the change over at holder effecting Maher even more

There is no reason to be subtle about Dak. To this point, good guy, mediocre QB.
Agreed. I would rank him around 20th best in the NFL, which isn't bad at all considering there are 32 starters and 40-50 depth QBs on teams in the NFL today.

Cooper Rush would have to be among the very bottom 5 though, including both starters and all backups.
