Garrett has no more excuses and a 9-7 - 10-6 season that ends with a wildcard win and a divisional loss will just not cut it.

Dallas has one of the best rosters in football and they have the rare benefit of having quality depth at positions that actually matter (besides QB).

This season is a win-win going into it because if Dallas does nothing in the post season then Garrett has got to go.

Garrett better hope Kellen Moore is the real deal because he has no more excuses with this roster.

This should be an 11-5 season with potentially the 2 seed and a game in New Orleans (most likely) to see who goes to the Superbowl.

Expectations are through the roof. If we buck the trend of winning the division 2 years in a row, get a BYE, but lose with a Minnesota Miracle situation and are one and out in the playoffs.. I still see Garrett staying.

I'm just glad we are getting deals done, because if we do go deep and maybe even SuperBowl.. everyone is going to get pricey.. But who cares at that point! Lets win big!

Super bowl or bust for me. No title no job for Garrett and welcome Lincoln Riley. Either way it’s a win for us.

I just don't think this is realistic.

1. It would be a total ego move for Riley to come to the Cowboys and leave his cushy Oklahoma job. The NFL is tough every week and OU plays 2 maybe 3 games a year where they realistically have a chance at losing.

2. Jerry doesn't really pay coaches. He still has the 90's mindset about teams knowing what was coming and still couldn't stop it and he has a coach that coaches that way. Analytics and all of that stuff they do not care about.

"Jerry Jones basically says Jason Garrett needs huge results to keep his job"

"You can win the Super Bowl without a star rushing champion.."

HEY JERRY! WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU ANYMORE!! :lmao2:

You're probably right but no coach deserves the amount of time that Garrett has gotten. Especially with the most valuable sports franchise in the world. No other organization would put up with his lack of post season success and he didn't accidentally go a decade without post season success.

Agreed. Kinda hate that so much of the season depends on Dak taking the next step as a QB, but I hope he steps up and delivers so he can get that payday he wants. My body is ready. Let’s get this party started.

This shouldn't factor in with deciding on Garrett because the organization is fully bought in on Dak and they think he is a real deal QB.

We can't waste the next generation of Cowboy players. It's put up or shut up time.
Amen! That's my thing. Dallas is paying 3 guys top dollar (Zeke, Zack, Tank) and other guys in the top 5 at their position (Tyron, Travis, La'el, Jaylon) plust Dak, Amari, and Byron will get new deals. Why waste all that talent and money if you keep losing in the divisional round. Was I excited last year that Dallas won 7 of their last 8, the division, and a playoff game? Yes! But it's still not good enough. This team has the talent to be a top team in the NFL. They, to me, have a legit window until 2024 to win a Super Bowl. The only reason I don't want to say NFC Title game or bust is what if Dallas plays like crap all year, seaks in at 9-7, gets a few good matchups and makes the title game? The 2009 Jets and 2014 Colts are good examples. Also, what if they pull a 2017 Vikings and gets beat pretty bad in the NFC Title game? No way am I comfortable with extending Garrett after either scenario. To me, it's a wait and see. If they go 12-4, win a playoff game, and are competitive in the NFC Title game he will probably get an extension. If they win the NFC sure extend him. But he has had his chances. I think it speaks volume that Jerry did not extend him after last season.

I agree. John Fox had the Broncos win their division every year (four years he was there). Divisional rounds Years 1 & 2. Superbowl loss Year 3 & then divisional round Year 4. Ballsy move to remove him as coach and put in Kubiak to win the ship the following year. I hope Jones is aggressive this way if things don't pan out and you can accurately pinpoint it to coaching.

is Goff Better as I see it Dallas isnt alone, this is the new NFL..

Rams Paid top money to Donald, Gurley, and Goff..

Donald truly has earned his but Goff and Dak while different players in the same tier and Gurley and Zeke similar , and Tank may not be Donald but point is the NFL has already opened that door and the money is getting richer regardless of a players production especially at QB..

who will stop it? I cant be mad at Zeke or the Cowboys for playing it 50mil guaranteed and a very average QB like Cousins, Stafford, Carr, and now Goff get ridiculous money and Goff gets 110 GUARANTEED more then twice as Zeke and Gurley..Jimmy Garoppollo is the worst as he hasn't even played a season in the nfl an was handed the ridiculous money..

Id say thats insane and in that narrative Zeke got what he deserved as top producing PLAYER in this league..its why he held out , he know Dak will get twice what he got without actually being twice the player..

If im a top player in the nfl not a QB im looking around and going, wheres mine? the owners made this bed and now they have to sleep in it..they wont be eating Ramen tomorrow because of it..

For me..

Wentz > Dak > Goff

I'm not a fan of Goff's game or his intangibles at all. He is very dependent of his coach and isn't a strong leader or anything.

The Superbowl performance by him was so bad and he basically didn't have to throw against us.

Goffs last 7 games last year including playoffs were pretty bad..not saying hes bad but getting 110 is out of control..he is in sense the highest paid because of his guaranteed money..

Garrett ran out of excuses long ago. It doesn’t even matter at this point.
