Zeke on being highest paid RB: “Why? Because I think I’m the best.”

Don’t like how the whole thing turned out :

1) rewarding a selfish , arrogant player this way sends the wrong message to the team . No punishment for missing the whole preseason?
2) contradictory statements by Jerry and Stephen about not setting the market , reduce the credibility of the organization in future negotiations
3) tying the team up for 9 years with one guy who is one injury away is reckless .
4) puts too much pressure on coaches and may cost some of them their jobs ( rightly or wrongly )

Will you still say that when he has less than double digit TD runs this season?

He does a lot more for the team than just run the ball in the red zone.

If you disagree with my statement, that’s fine. But I think that for a team that wants to play a physical brand of football, Zeke is the best RB for them.

The reason I said he’s the best for this team instead of just the best is because Barkley is extremely talented and I could easily see other people thinking that he’s the best. There is nobody else in their category though.

So... IMO... Elliott is the best for Dallas.

He's not wrong. He is the best, all the numbers back that up. I am a bit worried about the length of the contract because running backs tend to have short shelf lives but looking at the contract we have a pretty decent out in 4 years (so after his 7th year) and the last 2 years are just for show they will almost certainly be renegotiated if he is still playing at a high level then.

*** are you talking about???....it's absolutely hilarious how some of you clowns think....if Jerry had no faith in Zeke he wouldn't have gotten his contract....did Jerry back him when he was wrongfully suspended?....he did....but please tell me who the rushing champ was in 2016 and 2018?....he works but it sounds like you want him to give Jerry a hand job or something....

Don't be absurd. I can't help but wonder what's in that pipe you're smoking. Whatever it is isn't doing you any favors. I never mentioned that Jerry didn't have any faith in Zeke, although he'd likely be better off if he didn't. Despite doing all that he does to extricate him from his woes, it's back to square one.

I'm also well aware of how Jerry did everything he could to save Zeke's butt when he got into trouble with Goodell. It's a shame that Zeke didn't take that into consideration when he decided to hold out two years early. Be that as it may, that's all over now. Let it go and be happy that the seemingly endless holdout is over. It's history.

The fact that Zeke is a well known rushing champ hasn't escaped anyone either, surely not myself. What Zeke does on the field has nothing to do with what he does off of it. You'd do well to keep that in mind. The holdout is over -- let it go, can the hate and you'll feel better, ok?

Agreed he is probably the best. All of the top 5 backs do things better than others. I think Zeke works the best with this team and the grind it out style we hope to play.

That said the way he plays in two years is going to make the contract look bad. I also don’t want this to be the catalyst for the Cowboys never allowing anyone else on the field, because Pollard looks like he could be a great weapon.

So he's not a saint....let me know when he ever shows up drunk to practice, doesn't do his job on the field or harms a child....all that other bs you talking is laughable....Namath was flamboyant as hell but Zeke makes more so....
Kinda hard to show up drunk to practice when he doesn’t show up at all, isn’t it?

Doesn’t do his job on the field? I have lots of examples but leta start with Denver. Can you tell me how many yards he had in that game? I know, I just want to hear you say because I don’t think you do. I’ll give you a hint, his total rushing yards have one number and it’s also the same game he quit on a play.

You think he can't become more mature and learn to be more responsible??? I think he can.
Not at this point. I didn’t like him from the day we drafted him due to his college “character issues” but I let it go. I thought maybe he would mature once he was in the NFL. The. what happens? He pulls up a womans top in public, knocks out a DJ and bullies a security guard.

You can minimize these actions all you want and blame it on everyone but Zeke. Not only does that show how ignorant he is but the fact that he did those during, before, and after being investigated for DV and facing a possible suspension should tell you all you need to know.

Ezekiel is right to perceive himself as being the best RB in the NFL.

Being the leading RB in terms of yardage gained testifies as much.

Believing oneself to be the best is an important step in achieving it.

He's the best...... and yet Gurley outplayed him by a wide margin in the biggest game of his career.

He got paid. Great for him.

Not great for team. When does paying one person(RB in particular) $$$$ ever equate to Championship? They are few and far between.

You have to back to Emmitt Smith.
