I am at where I was before he signed. I don't like the way it was handled. He signed a contract, honor it. Instead, he holds the team basically for ransom so his ego can be catered too. I don't like him too much, never really did. But, as I have stated. Dallas needs him. I just don't think they need him this badly to the tune of 90 million. Not like he will see all that coin. But, how does this affect how Dak and Coop get signed? Is the cash there. I still believe those two positions are harder to fill than RB. So, yea, I'm the same. I knew he would get signed.. Happy he will be there to help. But, I don't like him or how it all went down at all.

The first bolded you want the player to honor his contract.
The second bolded you're admitting that the team wont honor the contract. Smh.

I was in the really, REALLY disappointed crowd. Alot of is supported this kid thru all his indiscretions, but this was my last amount of sticking with him. Holding out like he did IMHO showed a total lack of giving a crap about anyone other then himself. Am I glad he got paid, meh doesn't change my life 1 bit, but one has to ask, even tho he stated ALL his mates texting, calling with support, does it change the locker room opinions regarding zeke, his take care of me and screw all the test of you attitude?...guess time will tell

Uh due to the way contract are structured in the NFL, all players think this way.

No, not really. I am sure he will be on another team by then. I don't think he will stick with Dallas. If he does, he will have another contract extension. Seeing more coin. Good attempt though.

You never addressed the contradiction in your post. Why will he be on another team, when he's 28 or 29 years old he'd love to get what's on the back end of his contract so Zeke's not going to opt out. I wonder why he won't "see all that coin?"

I just don't think he will. Fair enough? Or, maybe he will grow up and finish with the team, getting his coin. Also, unless he has it in his contract that the EMPLOYER cannot terminate his contract at anytime. The EMPLOYER has the right to do so, at anytime. Remember, these players are employees. Maybe now I have explained myself better.

IMO. The money is still too much paid out. IF it doesn't affect other players that need to be signed, then, so be it. I just don't think he's worth that much coin.

Ohh so J Smith held out, while still under contract, held the team for ransom until he got his "payday"... ok I guess I must have not listened or misunderstood, I thought HE took what the owners felt he was worth, smiled about it signed and went on his way...

They are contractors they all get paid differently according to what they bring to the table.

That's him, he felt that the deal was fair and that the cowboys took a chance on him, I have no problem with that. Nor do I have a problem with Zeke, it ain't my money and I'm not a hater.

I've been ready to move on, to look at trade offers involving 1st round picks, to enter the season in holdout status and see what Pollard provides first.

But now that it is looking likely....

:flagwave::flagwave::flagwave::flagwave::flagwave:

Go Zeke!

Haha for real though, I'm already flip-flopping and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Long term, I'm not a big fan of the idea. It doesnt fit the modern NFL and I think we all know that. But short term, this was a roster already looking SB capable. Now we secure the contribution of a bonafide superstar and I think we look like strong contenders in 2019 and maybe even the year or two after that.

Call me "just a fan" and maybe I need to turn in my armchair GM card. But I'm keeping my armchair HC card because this talent pool is salivating when you consider the onfield possibilities.

So be honest Cowboys Zone, where are you now and where will you be week 1 if (when) Zeke takes the handoff?

Same as when we signed Dez to his big contract. Even if you don't like the contract, once it's signed, it's time to cheer. At least until we can get out of the contract and have options to do so. Then you can cheer and play GM too.

Ah, so it's not as you 1st stated then. And no it's not any of our money, well unless your buying season tickets and apparel etc...then in a way a portion is ours. But no matter, we dont have to write the checks, I assume then I must be a hater because I dont see giving the house away to a single player, knowing there are other players just as deserving, but doing the mature, right thing and waiting their time. I guess in your world, zeke is the whole team, he does it all, pass, catch, run, call plays, read D, then also defend the goal...good grief

The right, mature thing? You mean the stupid thing right?

So if silver and blue was the best running back in the league with 2 years left on your contract, knowing how they did the previous rb you would just wait until your contract was up? Then they franchise you for the last 2 years then let you walk at the age of 29 to become a free agent. Now you're past your prime and would be lucky to get signed for the veteran minimum.
Your agent should lose his license if this were to happen.
