Fell alseep on game for obvious reasons but that was two very 'not good' teams.
Chicago has a good defense but non-existent offense.
GB is just Rodgers throwing it up and hoping for a play by his WR and that WR group has regressed mightily.
Neither of those teams are scary at all.

And yes DAL has started slow before and looked anemic on offense before.
The difference is DAL on abad OFF night would have scored 16 points not 3 or 10. That was tragically bad offense.

The regression simulations attributed to DAL probably should have been assigned to CHI.
That is one awful offensive football team.

Bingo. Mitch took 3 snaps didn’t throw a pass Rogers didn’t take a snap in the preseason. We just basically watched game 5 of the preseason the more teams hold back players in the preseason the worse week 1 will look. Wouldn’t be surprised if week 2 is not much better things will look up in weeks 3-4 week 5 should show what teams are really good. So I’m not going to judge these teams based on tonight and say they are easy wins.
Both of those teams also lack offensive talent across the board.
Rodgers has fallen off and Trubisky is just not any good. Adams(yes he had a good year last year as the only receiving option) and Robinson are toward the bottom of the league WR1s.
Neither team has a RB to fear.
Mediocre at best OLs.
That wasnt just pre-season rust. It was rust and very little high end talent on OFF.

It didn't seem like Rogers got much protection. Was that a result of a great defensive effort by Chicago, a bad O-line or bad play by their O-line, or somewhere in the middle?

Regardless, after game 1, they're going to make adjustments. Most teams suck in game 1. And no team should be pencilled in as an automatic win. I want the Cowboys approaching each game with the mindset of give 100% effort...not "this is gonna be easy." The Cowboys tend to get owned when that happens.

I doubt we get those teams at their worst as they were last night. So I'm not so optimistic about those games being "easy wins". Playing in Chicago in December will be a challenge and Aaron Rodgers loves to play in Jerryworld.

Both teams moved the ball when they went no huddle. Coaches never want to do that the full game though which is what hurts offenses.

QBs are now used to not huddling coming out of college. The amount of delay of games should have been at least 3 or 4 more. Rodgers got away with a ton of them.

Letting defenses rest gives them a big advantage. It was good to see Dallas get to the line quickly in preseason. Hope it carries over.

That is easily 2 wins on our schedule...lol

Barring any significant injuries i do believe that this just might be our return to mid to late 70's and early 90's type domination for some years to come.
Aaron Rodgers throwing up a Hail Mary for a touchdown and then in the end zone another one. If he was a great quarterback and he would have hit the receiver in stride LOL

Yeah, because teams never look out of sync in week one then improve. I doubt the Bears and Packers score 150 points all season.

He is. He played Dakish football last year.

Or did some of you forget that Dak didn’t even have a 200 yard passing game until the 4th game of the season and only 2 TDs in the first 3 weeks. Relax.

Rodgers was nothing special either.
Aaron Rodgers was just as horrible I agree puts up a Hail Mary for a score. Should have hit the guy in stride. The second of all I don't care about yardage, look at Zeke all the yards 6 touchdowns

The Packers always get away with stuff...usually it's rampant O-line holding.

Then again, Eli Manning got away with intentional grounding all of the time.

Yeah I wouldn't judge off that game. It's a rivalry game and the 1st game. This game shows that the pre season really does matter.

Trubisky was #3 in Qbr last season. not a bad sample size, but one game makes him a scrub. Lots of knee jerk reaction experts here

I don’t think the team or teams go into a game thinking “this is gonna be easy.” That’s the fans. Certainly, it’s difficult for teams to sustain focus and emotion week in and week out through a 16 game schedule, but that’s not thinking a game is going to be easy.

I honestly could not tell if their defenses was just that great or if their offenses were just garbage. You never really know who a team is going to be until week 4. Unless of course you make a move to get an Amari Cooper mid way through the season that helps your passing and running game.

And if you go look at his numbers last year they are nearly identical to Dak’s.

Trubisky had a bad night but it took Dak almost a month to pass for 200 yards last year. 200....

Maybe we should wait until we have a bigger body of work...
Trubisky last night
26/45(57%) for 228 yards, 5.1 yards per attempt, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 3 dropped INTs in first half alone, 62.1 rating.

Dak in your three hand picked games
54/88(61.3%) for 498 yards, 5.65 yards per attempt, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 78 rating.

Receiving options:
Robinson>>>>>Hurns
Gabriel>>>>>Twill
Shaneen>>>>>Swaim
Cohen>>>>>>Elliott
Beasley>>>Miller

Did not include rushing

"We had an entire body of work last season and he was solid"
