I have zero problem with establishing the run. I'm not sure why, but it seems some fans have the notion that the only way to make changes is to become pass heavy. It would make no sense to have a weapon like Zeke and not use him heavily. I expect Moore to run a balanced offense, just with some differences in pre snap motions, play designs and play calls.
NFL 101 you must establish the run.

What's your take? Mine is neither offense was ready to play, they couldn't execute the plays and both have plans this year on establishing the run. Nagy and LaFleur are both run first coaches and they wanted to establish that and failed and the passing game wasn't working either. Both teams were rusty and the sloppy play showed they hadn't played any meaningful ball in 9 months.

What it did was showcase preseason for what it is, a money maker for the owners and the HC's are not risking their players and they play fewer starters every year.
I think that’s exactly what he was saying. They sucked moving the ball.

I never heard that from him, in fact, I don't remember hearing anything from Linehan. But it would not surprise me as Romo fashions himself as an expert D reader even though out of the game.

There were some growing pains with the constant Kill kill kill at the beginning. Some of that was on the receivers not knowing the assignment, some of that was on the qb.

Expect some growing pains early with some tough wins but eventually this team will get in sync and become a formidable opponent...

Don't kid yourself. Moore will be on a tight leash this game. I am sure we will see our cookie cutter, establish the run game plan.

So opposite of everything they’ve practiced in training camp? Lol

My guess is the first play will either be a boot to the TE or Zeke up the middle for no gain.

It doesnt have to revolutionary, just make sure Defenses dont know what the play call is based on formations and personnel and we will improve significantly.
EXACTLY, WELL SAID!! I think that's what young Kellen is supposed to be all about, misdirection, concealment, and a bit of trickery.

Today's NFL is a pass to run league....
The two Super Bowl contestants last year were the 3rd leading rushing team and 5th leading rushing team in the NFL. In all, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 11th rushing teams were in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the 1st, 2nd and 4th leading passing teams all missed the playoffs.

The reality is there is no one size fits all. Besides, establishing the run doesn't necessarily mean you have to run the ball more than you pass it, it just means establishing that you are successful at running the ball, and therefore a threat that the opponent has to worry about.

Ill be shocked if Moore is allowed to open it up. And I would be very happy. Chances are that we come out pounding the ball between the tackles.

We not only have a new running back, we also have a new passing game to break in.

We're going to open it up this game.

Generally, teams get in a better rhythm running the ball if the team has success passing.

I wasn't up to date on the most recent stats.

But I've noticed a correlation of successful running teams establishing the pass early on.

I know that is what we have all been hoping for and praying for. However, I wont believe it until I see it.

What I am specifically talking about is coming out conservative and trying to establish the run. I would love to see them come out throwing the ball to open up the run.

..if Moore can stay creative as Daniels of NE. And with all the talent we have on offense, I can only see good from this. ON the other hand, I hope he doesn't over think this and becomes penchant in conservative mode.

He seems to be a brainy type of individual, so creativity might be his advantage.

That works both ways. The better a team runs the more it opens passing opportunities, and the better a team passes the more it opens run opportunities. It’s a two way street. The point is a team has to commit to balance to make it work. The Pats are a great example. You never know from week to week if the early game plan will focus on the run or pass or if there will be a blend of the two. They key is to have the option to attack based on what the opponent does.

We agree, basically.

Kellen "The Hammer" Moore will have the advantage as others stated in not having any tendencies. Hoping that will outweigh Moore being so green.
