Moore has done a great job installing the new offense. We looked very competent and prepared today. The real test of Moore's greatness will be in about 3-4 weeks when defensive coordinators have had a chance to look at KM's tendencies and offense and come up with countermeasures. What will Moore tweak and adjust to negate the countermeasures?

I penciled him in as our next HC long ago, maybe it’s time to speed up that process

He did a fantastic job

Me, too.

Last year.

And I agree it's time to move on.

But i'm going to enjoy this year with him as OC for now. I already know that.

Like some have said, he may not show many tendencies.

Some say because there's not much tape on what he'll do.

I'll say because he's just going to be an unpredictable OC, in a good way.

Just tweak and adjust will be a departure from last decade.

I hope he is. People thought JG was the real deal back in 2007. So I do as I always do, take the cautious approach of wait and see.
They did? Maybe, like 3 people. The talk at the time was that people did not believe in him.

I did not know what to expect but I am pleasantly surprised.

I do not think it's a fluke, he may be the real deal at oc.

this from Dak

"I don’t know if we ran one play tonight that hasn’t been in our offense for some time,” Prescott said.

Prescott already mentioned that the Cowboys aren’t necessarily running new plays. But they are changing how they present them to defenses, and when they call them for maximum effectiveness.

“It’s about how we’re presenting them, what we’re making the defense think it is and then what we’re actually getting to,” Prescott said. “We’re getting our best athletes in open space and in the areas we’re most comfortable with.”

I have said it before, its not the plays, but the combination of routes and pre-snap motion that differentiates OCs....these were the same plays, but run the right combination of routes and pre-snap and dang, the plays and scheme looks great.

People need to tap the brakes slightly. It was a good debut, but you you need to remember something important.

2016 - why was it successful for Dak and Zeke? Because the rest of the NFL didn't have any game film on them. Its the same for Moore. He's probably going to get some early success, and today was proof of that, but not a single DC in the NFL had any film on his plays, tendencies, etc until today. Once they get more and can game plan better the results have a good chance of changing.

This isn't a dig on KM because he did have a good game today. But unless he has a different play book for each game this season, opposing DC's are going to catch on. Its just part of the game.

That's true. The one thing I'll say though is that with Moore in, I have a lot more confidence that they'll make adjustments when needed rather than just foolishly stick to the exact same thing that wasn't working before like Linehan did.
Or Linehan seeing something working and moving away from it to "trick" opponents.

I agree with your cautionary sentiment. However, KM is simply employing the Spread Offense to perfection (at least today), and very importantly, he has the pieces to do just that. The book is already written on how to slow down the Spread so, it's not going to require a lot of "Magic" for opposing DCs to combat what Dallas intends to do. It worked supremely today not because of there being no film on Moore, but because NY set out to stop Zeke .. which was a bit surprising to me in light of his hold out and subsequent absence.

Now, I am hoping that Zeke will regain his power running form that we've all become accustomed to but, it wasn't there today. The other thing is, as defenders begin to try and stop the Spread, it will open up the run and I hope we'll have the POP to bring it. The one other comment I'd have is that we will waste Pollard if we don't design some stuff to get him the ball in space.

I agree. Those WR were running quick crisp routes and Dak was accurate. Zeke usually takes 2-3 weeks to get that football burst back. If this is the Dak, WR & Kellen Moore we see this year then other NFL teams are in for a long year.

I've only been saying this guy was smarter than everyone else for over a decade now. Glad people are finally starting to realize it. I'm just happy Dak could drive the Kellen bus without wrecking it. Next week...let's see if they take the governer off the throttle...Hope Dak can handle it

Boy, you sure were astute to see that in a freshman or sophomore QB at Boise State.

I'm gonna say it right now....they are not the same plays. Nice try Dak.

That's what I've been saying...It's the same offense/ concepts from BSU 2008-2011. Kellen started as a redshirt freshman...and has been rolling ever since. ;)

50-3 in college...was no fluke. Should have been 52-1.
