Cobb surprised me with his quickness and physicality

I've watched him play at GB for years and thought we'd see a slower receiver with injury issues. But he looked fresh, quick and wouldn't go down without a fight. If he can stay healthy and fresh he will have a huge impact on this season. I'd go a little light on his snap count early in the season unless we are in dire need of wins.

Starting out seasons strong is Cobb's MO. He had 10 catches for 142 yards last year in GB's opener against Chicago.

His issue the past 3 years or so in GB is that he wears down, accumulates nagging injuries, and more recently misses games.

We have to hope that the (A) The Cowboys somehow have a better training staff (B) Cobb's health issue the past few years have just been bad luck and (C) he's takes less wear and tear this season playing for the Cowboys than he did in GB.

keep Cobb fresh at all costs. Come the playoff push, we will be glad we did. We are deep and talented at WR...so we can afford to keep him on a pitch count of sorts.

I think the fact that he's our third receiver will help in that regard. He did play 71 percent of the snaps for us, though. It might not hurt to give some of those to Austin, who only had two offensive snaps.

Injuries are the issue with Cobb. Saw them get Devin Smith a few snaps yesterday; of cpurse, he has an injury history too.

That stiff arm to pick up the first down was a straight up veteran strength move. Knew where he had to get and showed physical to do it. Was wondering if he was gonna draw the flag on the stiff arm, looked like he got some face mask. But I saw Dak take a shot to the face that wasn’t called.

But I think play calling may have a lot to do with that. Beasley ran the route that was called at the time.

I think it's more the Bills' stat line showing exactly what each player is. Beasley is a receiver with great short-area quickness in and out of cuts. He doesn't have the speed to blow past defenders and can't get off press coverage when he does try to run longer routes. As long as he's able to go one-on-one with a defender in the 5- to 10-yard range, he can win. He's an ankle-breaker in those situations. Cobb is more of an all-around receiver. A solid route runner with enough speed, he can get open for quick passes, but also work deeper, which stretches the defense. He's also got some running back skills with the ball in his hand. This opens up the playbook for what routes the offense can use for its third receiver.

Beasley can continue to believe that he was limited because of how Dallas used him, but the Cowboys used him to his strengths.

Looks like they we
Thanks. That's what I meant to write. Don't know why it came out 56.

Another thing I liked was Cobb was targeted 5 times and had 4 receptions (80%). Beasley was targeted 9 times with 5 receptions (55%).

Hi guys. 41 year old lifelong cowboys fan, living in Minnesota but grew up in dfw. As a guy who lives around tons of packer fans, it was nice talking about Randall last night at the bar, while they faked interest. Viking and packer fans hate us as bad as giants and skins fans......and almost as much as eagle fans lol.

I see 25 snaps for Austin on offense.

Snaps ...... Snap% ...... Player
53 ............ 78.0% ........ M Gallup
52 ............ 76.0% ........ A Cooper
48 ............ 71.00% ...... R Cobb
25 ............ 37.0% ........ T Austin
6 .............. 9.0% .......... D Smith

I must have read that wrong. If that's the case, it's about right.

No surprise here at all, Cobb is a playmaker and great route runner and after the catch.

The only issue lately was health but he is looking excellent and healthy right now.

This WR group is going to trouble Defensive coordinators, Cobb will be a huge part of that this season!
