You bring up some valid points and I understand that there are certain intangibles that can’t be applied to some stats.

If Morris could average more yards per carry because other teams were scheming differently than great, I’ll take almost 5 ypc if they want to shut down one of our receivers or make passing more difficult. He’s not on the team because that was two years ago, most RB’s have short shelf lives plus we just drafted one.

You act like Barkley was running through huge holes all night which is incorrect, hell he barely carried the ball and when he did he was often forced to bounce or run into the back of his linemen. I never said anything about Zeke or Barkley today, the question is who is the better RB so I’m talking about Barkley’s rookie year and Zeke’s career so far.

Since you won’t name 10 top O lines you think were better at run blocking in 2017 and 2018 then let me ask you this. Do you think the Giants run blocking was better than ours last year, yes or no?
I'm not a Gnats fan so I don't watch a ton of their games, but from what I'm reading their run blocking appears to have been decent last season. W/ rook Hernandez really coming on and Solder getting better as the season went on, the best I can tell it was pretty decent at run blocking.

I believe Barkley led the NFL in most 20+ yrd runs, and he also took on load with 91 carries along with his 2nd in NFL led rushing yrds. But you saw the impact importance of how you just have to constantly keep lane and gap propriety on your defense on every single given time he touches the ball – the potential and threat of breaking it home will continue to frighten and terrified a defense
more than a bruising pounder. You get to live another play with a pounder, but you let a speed blur back get a clear run, then that breaks a game open wide, and there isn't any a live another play.

That’s the importance and luxury of having a quick strike home run hit threat RB, and let's not act like zeke is just a bruiser. one of the other elements that makes him an elite - and made him feared coming
out of Ohio state and taken 4th overall is a home run gear to pull away from defenses

Between the Cowboys placing an helluva wear and toll on zeke with total load of touches, carries and dump off catches and an highly ineffective and useless rod smith, . and he was very obviously gassed out on several times during the season, and he did say he was sore too, that led me to believe he was more heavy legged than in the past. That wear may have had an effect on his long speed overall
although you still see it with his patented quick screen that either gets chunk yards or a quick six points

I’m going to watch zeke’s home run 5th gear ability in this area this year - as to see if he’s maintain that element to his game at that same 2016 level.
And how we can best scheme the best ways to unleash his version of homerun hit fifth gear even more so. That's a responsibility for Columbo/Moore as well.

Barkley is the better player IMO, but I love having Zeke on the team. Zeke is going to win a lot of rushing titles, and he showed last year he has dynamic ability when throwing him the ball too, but Barkley is a generational talent. Every time Barkley touches it you can tell it's one missed tackle from him taking it to the house. He has that speed on top of being hard to bring down.

I don’t know where you live but we got almost every one of the Giants games last year, as we do a lot of NFCE games and I watched almost every one. They sucked were atrocious the first half of the season and let 2 of their starters walk about 8 games in, one who had a 3 year contract IIRC. Their center was a back up because their starter was out for the season. Solder was graded as one of the worst LT’s in the league for the first half of the season. Their only bright spot was Hernandez.

They did eventually get better in the second half of the season but became average at best. Almost every stat you look at has them graded as a mediocre to very bad team line overall (most towards towards the latter) and IIRC their pass blocking was rated much higher than run blocking.

Barkley is better. It’s ok. Zeke is Zeke. If Zeke can play 15 seasons like Emmitt and get 18k yards he will be considered better when it’s all said and done. But Barkely is better and it’s obvious.

Elliott 13 53 10 1
Barkley 11 120 59 0

less carries and twice as many yds, and giants abandoned the run when they got behind!
That pretty much says Barkley is the better rb
So, your expectation is that Barkley will average 10.9 yards per carry this year and Zeke will only average 53 yards per game? Come on, you have to know those numbers aren't going to be representative of the full season. It's not unreasonable if you think Barkley is the better player, but this is a poor argument for it.

Why do this? Rep your squad...
Because it’s hypothetical and there’s better players on other teams? We’ve been hearing for the past several years “imagine if so and so were our coach” and most people don’t have a problem with that.

Barkley is incredible ........ But he also gets gassed early in games ........ Zeke takes a while to get going, but he gets stronger as the game goes on.

It's almost a copy of Barry and Emmitt

Yep. And apparently Barkley was the NFL's fastest player this week, based on the top speed he hit during his big run. Combine that with a natural elusiveness and the power to bounce off defenders and you have a scary player.

1 game? What do you do, kick your wife out of the house if she gets a zit?
well it was one game for both, barkley won, we will see what happens as the season rolls along.
Also look at the team barkley has then look at the team elliot has.
If barkley was the starter for the cowboys, no telling what he would do.

To my eyes the Giants Oline was opening up running lanes a lot better than the Cowboys offensive line. I am just glad the Giants coaching staff went away from running the ball when the game will still close
