You're funny
Our run D sucks hind titty but go ahead and laugh it off.

The cowboys have given up 395 yards rushing in their last two games(Rams/Giants).This will not work vs good teams. Our weakness is DT. Call up around the league see what DT we can acquire for Taco. Woods is a nice backup but just not good enough to start. Collins is the annual preseason champ. Get a big nasty DT in here to free up our LB’s.
pessimist is a good name for you.

I believe Bennie Logan is still available but some people on this board said he wasn’t talented.

I watched the long run in the first quarter by Barkley. Barkley hits a hole on the right side of the defensive line. Antwan Woods (RDT) is pushed to the left by the LG and center taking him out of the play. Tyrone Crawford (RDE) is pushed to the right by the LT and the TE. LVE is left unblocked. All he has to do is hit the open gap and tackle Barkley for a short gain. LVE takes the wrong gap and gets hung up in a pile of players along with Antwan Woods. A similar play happened later on in the game when NYG were in our red zone. Both instances the Giants, double teamed our DLineman on one side of the line and LVE did not fill the open hole. Both times LVE ran into the pile of players instead of the open hole. So it isn't just our defensive lineman on these plays. If you have 4 offensive guys blocking 2 defensive lineman then what are the LBers doing that are not being blocked. I know we don't like to bash our LBers but they need to share in the responsibility of letting those plays happen.

I don't think talent is the problem. I think Rod's philosophy of "tackle the RB on the way to the QB," is the main problem. It can work against average OL and average RBs, but when you are up against a good, disciplined OL (Indy and LA) or an all-world RB (Giants), it makes you very vulnerable to the run and puts your LBs in tough spots.

Another Sky if falling thread.......Happens every time after a dominating win.

It definitely should have the coaches a bit concerned. Also throw the Colts game into the mix which was Week 15. That’s several games in the past 5-6 games played where the interior DL has gotten pushed around a bit. I haven’t watched film or anything so I won’t pretend to know exactly what the issue may be...

although his concern and stats are valid , for sure they need huge improvement ad great from a blowout win to use this as bulletin material to get the players attention toward Washington at high level..embarrass them if you will..AP will play and hes mad about being deactivated game 1. Guice is no slouch.. better pull it together because on the road might not be the same atmosphere and result if you get ran over all day by ALL DAY AP..LOL

what did you expect from his name being pessimist..lol

It’s the same starters inside. I’m telling you there’s a lack of talent inside. It’s going to bit us in the *** down the road.

People have been asking for more DT talent for years. They drafted Hill and his career is off to a pretty typical 2nd round DT start. People are just angry that he didn't hit the ground running like the best of the best, such as Aaron Donald.

3 years from now, Hill could be out of the league, a clear all pro, or anywhere in-between. The NFL isnt like Madden where someone comes in and automatically makes the team better because his player rating is higher. Give it time.

This ^.

I firmly believe that it's the coaching style of the DT positions. I think Dallas has the talent.

As long as we don’t sign a real 1T DT, were good

I'm a little bothered by it.

We have the guys to shut down the run but for some reason we keep getting gashed.

We keep getting gashed because our DLine "stops the run on the way to the QB". That is the system Marinelli runs and 1-cut running schemes that get the line leaning use our aggressiveness against us. There is literally zero gap control in this system.

Myself and Jason Witten have combined for 240 games played, 12,463 yards, 69 TDs, 11 Pro Bowls and 4 All Pro selections.

I wasn't ripping Gurley, I was making fun of the OP. Its a huge stretch to lump the Rams playoff game in with anything this season.

I understood, was just saying Gurley still isnt himself at present or they arent going to use him like they were, one of the 2 or both...

Exactly. With the LBs we have, we should have our DTs play a 2-gap system, and let our LBs run and make the plays.

I don't see a trade as the answer. I think it is more scheme than talent at this point as to the culprit of poor run defense. There is more than enough talent to stop the run. The DL have talent and the LB corps are more than capable of stopping the run. Maybe part of the scheme was to defend the pass first.

I taped the game and haven't watched it in entirety. Saw the highlights. Looked like #30 Brown missed a few tackles which allowed for a lot of yardage. Others missed tackles too. Missed tackles are easy to correct.

Totally agree.

We have problems with the scheme.

I like the 4-2-5, but not as a base D vs the Run.

Not winning the SB until we get a stud DT and a safety to replace Heath. Its all that is left.
