You make it sound like eating the 9 mill is an easy thing.

Pats can, and have, manipulate the cap to sign whoever the heck they want.

Need a good wide receiver? Just sign Randy Moss, for cheap.
Need a good safety? Just sign the "retired" Junior Seau, HOF-level safety, for cheap.
Need another good wide receiver? Just sign a "disgruntled" Antonio Brown, for a one year sweetheart deal.

Pats will ALWAYS be able to sign whatever player they want, if there's only $9 mil in cap space, well, that's what Brown will take, no problem, though he passed up far more from the Steelers. But you see the Steelers are on the downslide, lost Bell, Roethsliburger is near retirement, so tell Brown if he'll get released from a division rival, then pitch a tantrum or two or three for his new team, and we'll sign you.

Biggest crooks in the league...

The Pats traded for Randy Moss, they didn't just "sign him for cheap" ... he was shopped around by Al Davis, any team could have traded for him... Any team could have taken on the risk of acquiring on a guy who had quit on his team...

Seau, a HOF linebacker, was asked if wanted to come back after he was released by Miami... at that point, anyone could have offered him another shot... No one did... The Pats did because Tedy Bruschi had broken his arm...

Antonio Brown was a free agent... The Raiders released him... That's the key... He was released... By the Raiders on their own volition... they could have shopped him around, they could have deactivated him... whatever... They Chose to Release him... But somehow the Pats are the bad guys because they signed him? and btw its a two year deal...

The Patriots front office works as hard as the players do in order to put together a strong roster from top to bottom... And you think that makes them crooks? get real

What really hurts is that the Steelers turned down a 1st round pick from the Patriots for AB just because they didn't want him to end up there.

I don't blame the Steelers one bit for not wanting to send him to New England... It was smart not to do so... There is a level of dysfunction in their front office when it comes to contracts... They let things drag out and let bad blood fester until it becomes a problem at times ... Not sure if its Tomlin, or Kevin Colbert who should be blamed...

deflate gate was nonsense.

and spying? you mean having a camera on the sidelines instead of a booth? yes the eternal spygate ... ask Jimmy Johnson if that one is a big deal

Remember Randy Moss? Yeah another troubled player who most thought wouldn't last in the NFL due to his antics. Guess what Pats took him and lit it up. Moss came down to earth and learned to behave like a pro. Will AB follow, I don't know, the rumor is he was wanting to play for the Pats all along, who really knows with a guy like that. only time will tell if AB can switch modes....

This is solely on AB

1) AB doesn't like the Trade
2) AB's mission; Get Released from Raiders
3) Preseason, mild antics arent enough to get suspended, helmet, frostbite, etc..
4) Resorts to physically threatening the GM and using racial epithet but alas no suspension
5) Plays the Gruden conversation on social media and is told he wont get guaranteed money
6) Released and Patriots pluck the low hanging fruit

Now where this story goes wrong is that the NFL should have suspended AB and put him through Cultural Awareness training and Anger Management training as they would have for the other 20% of players in this league but thats just the Double Standard one must tolerate

If he was suspended for a year the no other team would have benefited by his contrived plan and he would be free to sign with anyone next season

Just how the Hell are the Raiders to be made whole for giving away their 3rd and 5th round picks for this guy?

Game, Set, and Match
why should a team that makes an incredibly dumb trade, be made whole?

We had one of the worst WR thugs in NFL history during the 90’s. It today’s rules would have been suspended and probably banned from the league.
