Gentleman, gentleman..... Our eyes must of lied to us watching Dak make history Sunday against the giants.. We were told here over and over, that dak's ceiling was low and had he had progressed as far as he could go. And I ain't clownin'
I personally was told he was Trent Dilfer and Tim Tebow.......by a bunch of idiots who are ghost right now.

Passer rating gets more and more pointless every year.

You can see average passer rating by year here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/NFL/passing.htm

When Young played, it was in the mid-70s.
When Peyton played, it was in the low 80s.
Now it's in the low 90s.
At this point, it's getting compressed at the top end and the differences between most starters (top ones anyway) aren't very meaningful: so many guys throw fewer than 10 INT, for instance, that 1 or 2 more or fewer (basically in the noise) can change the order substantially.
True.

It really only relates to the current year you're in and maybe 2-3 years forward or back.

I'm sure one of our stats guys could apply those averages per year and adjust accordingly.

The older guys like Young and Manning (even Brady) would move way up and the younger ones (Dak and to a lessor degree, Wilson) would move down--relatively speaking.

So Dak is the 20th best qb in the league but somehow is top 10 in qb rating of all time? Hmmmm....
Nah, should be higher than 20 for sure.
I think he was 14th in passer rating last year. Assume that'll move up in 2019.
And then there are the intangibles.

That Dak is anywhere close to the caliber of quarterbacks

But u knew that tho
You are saying he didnt look amazing on Sunday? Keep doubting. Ill remember the fact I said you would be eating crow this season. That was one example of why.

Lets not forget that we were also told he wasn't quick enough to ever go through his reads at a high level and he also couldn't throw it over 10 yards accurately. What, what what!
The only thing I will give the doubters, and that is what I'm going call them because I don't really like using the word "haters", at least if they're fans of the boys, is they've gallantly
tried over and over to convince us of their superior football IQ and incredible football eyes in their evaluation of my quarterback and favorite players on our team.

Look, I've been watching since staubach and it doesn't take a genius to see how lucky we are to have a QB like Dak and for the life of me I have never understood why
that is so hard to see! No QB is perfect, even as good as Tom Brady is, there are quite a few things that he isn't great at but he overcomes those with other abilities, just has Dak has throughout
his career thus far. Superbowls will only come when coaching is on point and we play as a complete team. That is just the obvious to me.

I rewatched the cowboys playing the Commanders back in 2012 last night for the right to make the playoffs and Romo threw like 3 boneheaded picks right out of the gate. His head was in his lap, looked totally lost.
Not dissing on Romo, but it made me thankful for Dak who is consistent. I would pick Dak any day over Romo without even thinking about it, and I liked Romo.

I think the more revealing thing about that is that there are 2 Cowboys on that list. The only franchise with that item.
Both happen to play(ed) for Jason Garrett...which is the reason they are the ONLY QBs on that list with very little playoff success!!!

We can argue Dak's current QB ranking from now until doomsday (defense ;)), but is there anyone here who didn’t see at least SOME overall improvement by in QB vs NYG?

Honestly with the explosion of the passer rating they need to figure how to adjust it over time. There were 15 passers over Dak's average last year alone - That's just crazy

It is not comparable over time, just within a time period.

It seems completion % and Int % are the two biggest factors effecting the ratings increase. Both related to what the DB are allowed to do I think!

No doubt.

Also the protections on QBs and quick-hit, rac, offensive schemes.

That first 13-3 season for Romo. If that was year 4 so be it.
Incorrect. Sporadic commentary among CowboysZone's regularly active posting members became notable about cutting Romo following the team's 2007 divisional playoff loss to the Giants. The anti-Romo frequency was considerably lower in comparison to an actual continuous (e.g. self-perpetuating) and substantial uptick in GROT threads and postings following the team's 2009 divisional playoff loss to the Vikings. The public Cut Romo sentiment was unquestionably strong among a significant number of regularly active members from that point forward. Plus, injury and back-to-back-to-back 8-8 seasons further intensified the already 'loud' unfavorable rhetoric based commentary.

I was never a cut Romo guy. So you are barking up the wrong tree. As far the the Romo trolls it was no different than Dak now accept the roll out has been a little quicker with Dak.

So how has Dak played since the Amari Cooper trade?

Let’s see if you have even a shred of integrity or honesty inside of you.
So , you want to cherry pick? What kind of integrity is that? If anything, Cooper upgraded Dak’s play a lot. Who’s play has Dak upgraded? Name some players that Dak makes better?

I look at their first 4 years. That's all we have to really compare. Unless you're stuck on 4 seasons vs. and entire career.
Prescott is pretty damn good.
