That's called play action, nothing to do with 8 in the box. Lol that worked every time, even when Zeke wasn't in the game. Someone can look it up but off the top of my head Dak was 12-13 when Zeke was used on play action and 2-2 when he wasnt. The biggest "bite" on play action was the first td to jarwin and pollard was in the game.In the box or not, the linebackers and safeties were pulled down AFTER THE SNAP and WRs got open. GG2EZ
How many were the DBs playing shallow?1td pass there were 6 in the box. 1 there were 7. 1 there were 8 with a wr in tight and had nothing to do with the rb. Even if if it did, Zeke wasn't even in on that play. So none of the tds had anything to do with Zeke or 8 in the box.
The 40 yd to Gallup(no td) had 7 in the box. The 45 yd to Cooper(no td) had 8 in the box with us running 12 personnel which is a natural 8 in the box alignment. The 60yd to Cooper had 7 in the box.
That's the only one's I've looked at.
Zeke saw 8 in the box 7.9% of the time as did Pollard.
Cooper said the same thing........but no surprise. Top 3 elite RBs can have this kind impact even w/o the ball
Nope, never said that. Look, go look for yourself. I looked at just 6 plays, 3 tds and 3 big plays. 1 was 6 in the box, 3 were 7 in the box and 2 were 8 in the box. 1 of the 8 in the box Zeke wasn't even in the game. Both were from personnel grouping and alignment that brought the extra man in the box.So Martin is an idiot and doesn’t know what he’s talking about?
Just curious
They only gave him half the snaps he would normally get. Why. Because he had no contact or training camp. He looked to me like he was warming up when they pulled him. But this week he will get twice the carries.exactly what is football shape ?? what is he doing now that he could not have already done?
you have to remind the folks here who are holding his holdout and new big contract over his head and hang on every little mistake he made game 1.. they are being haters and trolls..You don't say...
That was almost certainly Jarwin's TD. Play fake to Pollard, safety bit hard, Jarwin wide open. That was only the 4th time in the Cowboys' last 76 plays inside the opp 30-yd line they went pass-pass on 1st and 2nd.The Giants also bit on play action with Pollard as the RB.
There is a video analysis posted somewhere that included a breakdown of how play action helped the Cowboys and the RB on that play was Pollard.
I can look when I have time but I'll ask 2 questions. 1. What are your parameters on shallow? 2. What does that have to do with what Martin said or what I said? The statement was, Zeke being in the game brought more 8 man in box. Not anything about shallow safeties. I pointed out 6 plays where that wasnt the case. Again, Dak completed more than 6 passes so maybe the other competitions were 8 man boxes. If I have time tonight I'll look at all the plays or someone else may already have and can post it.How many were the DBs playing shallow?
the box at the snap doesnt tell the entire story, even if the safetys playing back always cheated down bit had their eyes in the backfield, making them pause even for second to go for the pa or rpo , zeke makes huge difference.. he has the history and the hardware to scare defenses..the game plan was made to take zeke seriously..1td pass there were 6 in the box. 1 there were 7. 1 there were 8 with a wr in tight and had nothing to do with the rb. Even if if it did, Zeke wasn't even in on that play. So none of the tds had anything to do with Zeke or 8 in the box.

Hope he has more than one bullet.
I'm not disputing the loading of the box, but he also stated that just having Zeke in made them respect the run more, so I'm wondering if the safeties were playing closer to the line than you would normally expect them to be, i.e., to the point that the receivers could more easily get past them.I can look when I have time but I'll ask 2 questions. 1. What are your parameters on shallow? 2. What does that have to do with what Martin said or what I said? The statement was, Zeke being in the game brought more 8 man in box. 3 of those 4 plays were TD.
This. Dak was throwing vs two high safeties often. Way more often than we were running against stacked boxes.1td pass there were 6 in the box. 1 there were 7. 1 there were 8 with a wr in tight and had nothing to do with the rb. Even if if it did, Zeke wasn't even in on that play. So none of the tds had anything to do with Zeke or 8 in the box.

I have feeling only us old timers would understand that statement.
