He won't go to the Patriots because they are in the same division.

Eagles and Saints make a lot of sense.
That didn't stop them from trading Wes Welker. Hopefully they learned from that. Belichek loves taking advantage of bottom feeders.

I hope he doesn't go to the Eagles. He would be a big upgrade.

He didn’t start Game 1 because the Dolphins are in full tank mode lol
this should get the Commish involved, if its obvious tanking they should step in and has to limit the way they are doing this...trades are blocked in NBA , seen it..at some point arent they supposed to be spending a large portion of their cap etc..

how are they getting away with blatantly tanking?

does the NFL need a lottery as well?

What about B. Jones? I would trade him, taco and conditional 2nd. the condition being that if they can't work out a long term deal with Jones, then they get out 2021 2nd and they would also likely get a 3rd for a comp pick. If they Tag him, that nullifies the condition and they don't get the pick.

minkah doesn’t want to play safety. That’s a big reason why he wants to be traded. So he doesn’t really fit here unless we throw in Jordan Lewis or Anthony Brown. Then he can play CB. He wasn’t a to play CB.

I think the problem though is that he'll find himself stuck in Miami if he insists on sticking to corner.

A slot corner is a role player that you don't give away a premium pick for.

He can play safety and he can do it better then anyone on our team if they just put him out there and leave him.

why on earth would you do that?

taco and a 2nd is already fairly rich (although I'd do it) but throwing in byron as well? madness.

Has he said he doesn’t want to play Free Safety? Most of what I read is he’s saying he’s undersized to be playing the strong/box safety.

When Lewis's contract is up I can't see him wanting to stay.

I would trade him. He's our 4th corner. I think he's really good too but if Lewis gets that deal done you do it.

Lewis is a FA in 2021
Brown is a FA in 2020

Dolphins don't make sense. Minkah must not be a Brian Flores kind of guy. They still need solid players along with a lot of picks to build a decent team in a couple of years. Getting rid of Tunsil and now Minkah is just bizarre.

He played nickel in Saban's defense, and reading about him, sounds like the Dolphins don't know what to do with him and he probably doesn't know what to do in that mess of a defense. PFF claimed he was the best slot corner in the nfl last year.

IMO, he's too small to play SS, I don't think he's really 207. But he was undeniably one of the best players in the country, a dynamic playmaker. On a team full of future NFL players that won 2 championships, he always stood out. Unless there are character concerns, I'd definitely think about a 2nd rounder for him.

I dont care if he isnt a SS, Im for adding talent and Minkah is serious talent

If you can get 3+ of contract control over a former top 15 pick for less than a 1st rounder, you do it

I like your idea, but keep in mind top picks don’t work out all the time. There is a reason they are granting him permission to move on. Taco was a first rounder too. We know more about Taco now and wouldn’t pick him where we did if we had it to do over. They may feel the same way about **.

Trade our best corner when we are trying to make a playoff run? Get real.

This is easy. Trade a 2 for him. Put him at CB and let Jones walk.

We get a cheaper starter at CB, spend less draft capital than we would have (if Jones leaves, we will likely use a 1 on his replacement), and a comp pick in 2021
