Gallup isn’t a number 1. Didn’t we just go through this before Amari came?
Quit short changing players. 7 targets 7 receptions for 158 yards. Those numbers suggest that he could be a # 1. Besides if we pay Cooper we might not be able to pay Gallup two years from now. So if Gallup breaks out for 112 catches and 1200 yards this year it will be something to think about.

7×16=112.
1200÷16=75.

Those numbers are in reach and those numbers look like they belong to a # 1.

He made the most sense. We essentially had traded out special teams for special teams with Chunn and Covington since neither player was going to get snaps on offense or defense. Now, we're doing the same thing at a position where we might need the position depth more.

I would assume, though, that Wilson won't get a whole lot of snaps on offense, either. The jet sweep plays will probably go to Cobb, since he was running them some anyway. I wonder if Smith will get some offensive snaps since he was next in line behind Austin.

I wouldn't have activated Wilson to begin with, Cobb can handle punts and Pollard can handle kickoffs, I see no reason to activate Wilson with Smith available.

Projecting his entire season catch total based on his best game as a pro?

Yeah, that's smart.

He can play the slot and outside. They had him play the slot a lot during preseason. I think the coaches were getting someone who can return punts and play the slot ready due to Austin, and Cobb's injury history. Sure enough, it was the right call already.

Will the team release Wilson in a week or two when Austin is ready?

Who is more likely to be claimed by another team- Covington or Wilson?

Yea minus the tds lol and the garbage time receptions. Other than that, prime Dez
You are not the guru if you expected Ju Ju to have 12 rec for 168 yds and 2 td against the NE Patriots. Anybody with an inkling of football knowledge would know that's not happening. But I guess that explains the well over 3,000 post with under a thousand likes.

Gallup isn’t a number 1 same way juju isn’t. I’m paying Cooper what he’s worth.

They obviously need to pay Cooper but there is nothing wrong with Gallup.

He was a rookie last season and acclimated to the NFL better than many rookie WRs including many 1st round picks.

Teams in the modern era need 1A & 1B type WRs. They days of Mike Irvin and some dudes is gone unless the team has an elite TE.

It is smart, for a guy that average over 15 yards a catch last year. Gallup has gotten better. Dak has gotten better. So together their numbers should get better. I expect Gallup to out perform Cooper this year in yardage.

So quit being a disgruntled Cowboy fan and pour some kool-aid in that half-empty cup of yours.

I preferred them both over tavon austin due to Injury concerns. Imo, time to cull tavon.

I really don't understand why fans want to get rid of contributing players because they get injured. We don't know what other injuries may happen so we should always hold on to good depth. If other players prove to be better depth, then move them in front of Austin, but there's no reason to cut him just to cut him.

We've had positions get pretty decimated in the past and didn't have to depth to cover for it. Just two receiver injuries and we would appreciate having all this depth.

Devin Smith is the next guy in line for receiver work.

Of course. Nobody said he wasn't, although, the staff will decide who gets the honors, as time and experience allows for it. Smith surely holds the advantage of experience at this juncture. Since Wilson spent year one injured, this is, essentially, his rookie year. Ultimately, more time and additional development will determine who gets the preferred duty in the years to come. Special teams will be Cedrick's sole duty now, pending added experience.
