I ran faster than that when my mom came after me with paddle. The only thing is she was faster because she always caught me, lol.

39.5 inch vertical at combine, which tied for third among ALL defensive player in his class. And he's a bigger guy than the few who out-jumped him.

That's better than 90% of NBA players. Guy is a freak.

During week 1 there was a play where Eli was forced to roll out and LVE had to close in from upfield. If I recall correctly he sacked Eli.

But the thing that I love about it is how fast he closed. I saw the distance between the two and expected LVE to be too out of range but his closing speed is absurd.

Idk, his athleticism there just shocked me. He makes NFL players look slow.

They need to stick him on Chris Thompson all game. With Reed out, Thompson is the guy that most worries me on the Commanders.

LVE and Jaylon are young, fast, and athletic, and weirdly that gets them into trouble sometimes because they over pursue or hit their gaps/lanes too quick on occasion without being aware of where the ball is (our defense seems to not focus on who has the ball, just run into their assigned lane, often into traffic). Against Barkley, I thought it would have been better to have Jaylon just "spy" on the guy specifically - following him left and right and not worrying about anything else.- filling whatever gap Barkley was heading for, or containing to the outside. Simple approach - take advantage of his speed and tackling power..... 9 completions on 9 throws shows they are targetting him a bit with short passing game - as I think he over-commits and needs to improve ball awareness a little - it will come with study and experience. LVE started game SAME WAY, chasing cars, but he settled in quicker and seemed to be more aware and anticipated far better as game went along. Jaylon was chasing all game and I wonder if misdirection really causes him to bite and over-commit. They gotta coach the 2 young pups up. Sean Lee will talk to them. Jaylon strikes me as an amazingly physically talented guy (looks huge these days too - far more muscle than last year as his knee seems to be able to handle the extra beef - but can make changing direction and adjusting positionally that much more difficult the more you carry) - but he needs to be utilized in a smart manner or other teams can take advantage of his aggressive style (get him to bite on misdirection, double moves, play action, whatever..). Instincts will improve.

So..this is the new thing this year?

Reporting how many mph each player runs on a specific play?

Sigh..
