That's the thing that goes so overlooked about Witten with this fan base. He is not the fastest, or strongest but he is one of the most savvy players at the position. The route scheme was excellent on that play but I"ve seen player after player drop that pass week in and week out.

There's a reason a guy at 37 is still making plays in the NFL and it has a lot less to do with his athletic prowess. He's a lot like Ronnie Lott in that regard. Lott played well beyond his athletic prime because he was such a savvy guy when it came to the intricacies of playing the game at this level.

I was just arguing with a friend about had Jarwin run that route, he’d have another yard on the LBer and Dak wouldn’t have had to make a perfect throw. The LBer came from midfield and was right on top of Witten. No big deal I guess, but if a 2yd designed out route is really all Witten can give you why not put a younger guy in there?

Glad Allen is out. 4 first rounders on that front makes it tough.

That was a sweet throw by Dak to Witten. Touch passes have been a problem for Dak but that was perfectly placed. Not easy by any stretch with the lb right there.
