Dak Prescott knows he won’t be highest-paid QB, doesn’t feel like he can ask for that

Interestingly, this might not be the case. If you didn’t catch it due to celebrating the win that the Cowboys were in the process of putting together, FOX sideline reporter offered some very interesting insight on Dak Prescott’s contract situation. According to her, Prescott understands that he won’t be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, and he doesn’t feel like he can ask for “those kinds of riches” since he hasn’t won a Super Bowl.

People should focus on what Jerry Jones might shell out before believing completely in what Prescott is saying publicly. Prescott is not going to pay himself after all.

Looking at Wentz and Ryan tonight, Dak has every right to expect to get paid though.
I have enjoyed watching Dak destroy his biggest critics so far this year. This guy is legit. And he’s just starting year 4 of his career. He’s 26! The way some of his biggest critics on these boards talked, he was 35, had no upside, and little talent.

Dak has proven that he’s coachable, is still learning and is absolutely destroying any remaining myths about his lack of deep ball touch, his pocket awareness, and his ability to get rid of the ball quickly and on target. And he’s still learning the position! NFL QBs take time to get better. Dak is just getting started.

And think about where he came from. The dude didn't even know how to take a snap from under center when he got here and was thrown into the fire immediately. Anyone betting against this guy is just gonna keep losing.

This is probably true and the reason why the stories about Dak only wanting a four year deal could be true. That way he can cash in again post new cba as well as he thinks he will be worth much more for one more big pay day in 4 years

I also want to point out - what are the last 2 great Cowboys QB's doing right now? With his look and attitude - he'll be in the booth some day. Not everyone gets that opportunity... another perk of being a Dallas Cowboys QB!

We have really mis-managed this entire situation with the QB. So tired of hearing about it.

I love the Cowboys but we just are poorly run sometimes. And I am a HUGE Jerry Jones fan since I was a kid. Just pay the guy. If you want it to be 7 years give him a record deal. I'm not a scout but he's a superstar. Could be the best cowboy ever. Pay him the number he wants to be a cowboy for life. I'm also disappointed in Dak for not being team first and trying to get every dime. He says he wants to be a cowboy for life. Sign 7/210 an prove it then. So much damn greed its sickening. You would think a guy who lost his mother to cancer and was a 4th round pick would be ok with $210 million and all else he has. These guys are gonna answer for this someday. Some low vibrational stuff surrounding these negotiations on both ends.

How have we mismanaged it? We don’t know exactly what Dak’s camp is asking for and these deals are complicated. Dak will get a new deal soon, just as Zeke did, but there will need to be some compromise on both sides.

Give him a 4 year deal with less money. If he earns a huge second deal, then its a win/win. Thats a great thing.

It was reported he makes $50m in endorsements - I think he can return the favor and give us a lil discount

That was poorly reported. He's got a combination of insurance policies against injury and endorsements reportedly totaling $50MM, but most of that would obviously be from the insurance if he were to get injured. It's just downside protection his agent gets for him to offset the team's 'if you get injured, you get nothing' argument.

Dak should of been done already, before any of them. The fact it's still a story is a complete joke
