I'll admit that when he caught that TD, I was pretty much like this guy.

5th pick in the 2nd. That's close to being a 1st.

And he was drafted that high after basically running just two routes at Ohio State. He certainly has the physical ability, we talked about in this previous threads that his real value was the deep ball but Kellen Moore was smart enough to note show that card in the preseason.

If you want to get better you don't practice what your best at.

He does remind me of Terry Glenn. Can't coach that speed.

I have high hopes he keeps forcing his way on the field. Too many good WR's is a good problem to have.

Tavon Austin is still my pet cat, but I love love love hearing this from Jerry. Devin has overcome so much adversity. Would love to see him totally redeem himself here in Dallas.

Smith is an amazing underrated player. Very instrumental in Ohio States National Championship run with Zeke. I just hope his knee holds out. He is a diamond in the rough. Another player JJ took a small gamble on and has payed off so far.

Im just wondering if its feasible to have another knee operation to install a back up ACL so he has two of them in case one goes. If his knee holds out, this guy is gonna be a great surprise.

If nothing else, Smith adds another dimension to the passing game that opposing DCs have to consider. Between Smith, Cooper and Gallup, the Cowboys have very legitimate deep threats.

It's so refreshing to see our passing game finally have so many legit threats. It's like we have a 1a, 1b, 1c etc.. Cobb is a glue guy. So versatile. Austin is who needs to be looking over his shoulder. If you look at KC, they can strike from anywhere to ANYONE... they have guys with speeds most aren't familiar with outside of KC. We are starting to have a version of that. Sky's the limit.

Yeah, if you look at his pedigree it's pretty clear the only reason we have him is because of his injuries.

Kinda like when we lucked into Colombo as the right tackle.

Devin Smith just looks awesome in this offense and he will see a lot of man coverage.. Good luck..

That's true and untrue at the same time...if you don't practice what you're best at you won't get any better at it and there's ALWAYS room for improvement no matter how good you are at something. Growth is important as well by acquiring new skills but maintaining/improving the ones you have is just as important.

Not trying to be a debbie downer but after years of fantasy football losses, i don't get overjoyed about any WR or player until they can do whatever they did multiple times. Kevin Ogletree had a big game here and there, so did Terrance Williams and then other times garbage. Just don't want to get caught in the hype.
