Dak Prescott knows he won’t be highest-paid QB, doesn’t feel like he can ask for that

Interestingly, this might not be the case. If you didn’t catch it due to celebrating the win that the Cowboys were in the process of putting together, FOX sideline reporter offered some very interesting insight on Dak Prescott’s contract situation. According to her, Prescott understands that he won’t be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, and he doesn’t feel like he can ask for “those kinds of riches” since he hasn’t won a Super Bowl.

He looks so much better than them right now.

As long as the team’s winning, and he’s playing like he is right now, it’s doubtful Dak’s in big hurry to sign an extension.

I realize we’re only 2 games into the season, and both were against questionable defenses, but if Dak continues to play at anything close to the level he has so far, his future stock — and price — is only gonna go up.

Dak should of been done already, before any of them. The fact it's still a story is a complete joke

How can you say it should be done already when you don’t know what the terms and guaranteed money Dak’s camp is asking for. It takes both sides to get a deal done not just our front office. It will get done when BOTH sides come to a reasonable agreement that is fair for both parties.

Who isn't fool's gold? If Ryan is, what kind of numbers need to be put up to be considered legit?

I expect QBs who are getting paid like that to not toss 3 INTs in a game and put up a better performance in the Super Bowl. Also maybe go to more than one.

I said early in the offseason they need to get the deal done. And that the front office should be aggressive in pursuing the deal. I knew he was gonna ball out this year. Better weapons with a whole off season of work and frederick back at center. The writing was on the wall. I knew as soon as Roseman got wentz's deal done we got screwed. He is the best GM in football right now. What he does year in year out shows how inept the jone's are.

Evidently, he's not trying to be the highest paid in this contract, just not be the tied up for the longest. Any good QB would be a fool to sign a deal for longer than 4 years, at the most. Few QB's get career ending injuries and if they're half good can play for 10-15 years and that next contract could be the motherlode.

From watching one of his runs in DC, if I am the company insuring him, he would have gotten this text from me "Dak, great run but remember, feet first, it's feet first".

A man of integrity unlike Tony "cap killer" Romo.

Romo restructured his contract multiple time so guys like Orlando Scandrick and Sean Lee could be signed yet I see that Romo Derangement Syndrome is still alive and well. Funny how that old retired guy still gets under peoples skin. The Ghost of Tony Romo still haunting the forum.. Ya cant make this stuff up

Easy way to settle this if you are Dak. Get on the phone with France and tell him to take a deal for 30 or whatever the number offered is now and be done with it.

If I'm not mistaken, the team finally finished paying Tony just last season. Tony's been out of the league for three years now. I mean, I can see why people have issues there.

Dak wants a four-year deal like Wentz and Goff but the Cowboys want to push it to seven years. Dak wants more money per year for a seven year deal.

Dak is playing the Jones family and fans like a Stradivarius violin held by Itzhak Perlman.

If the Cowboys sign a couple more players, then all is revealed:

The team should have locked up Dak early in the offseason. They already knew he was a stud so there was no point in delaying. It’s only going to cost them more money.
