That's the hope. I hope they shelve him against Miami no matter what. I'm not sure he isn't the best receiver on the team, which is saying something.

I'm with you.. Just sit him if it's anything that a week off will clear up. Devin Smith is more then enough to get it done.

Wow. Why not..
It sounds crazy. But if Gallup is out 2-6 weeks, bring in someone that knows the offense, went to pro bowls in the offense, and is now a more humble thankful player.

Jason Witten and Dez now know that this is Dak Prescott's team.

LMAO.. I wouldn't be opposed to it as long as he is in shape. He would enjoy having Moore as OC. Maybe he could help. But eventually someone will be off the 53 when everyone is healed up. I like our WR.

Dez is probably in my Top 2-3 favorite Cowboys of all-time.

That said, it’s time to move on. Bringing back onboard would be weird.

This seems precautionary but I'm still terrified. This would be a devastating blow. He's become an enormous weapon for us.
You could make a case that he's been the most efficient receiver in the NFL over the first two weeks. His 15 targets have resulted in 12 successful plays, and his improvement has mirrored Dak's improvement --

Gallup Success Rate
2018

first 15 targets
33% 5 of 15
last 50 targets
46% 23 of 50

2019
last 15 targets
80% 12 of 15

all other Dallas targets besides Gallup
60% 28 of 47

A successful target (or play) is one that gains at least 50% of the yards to go on first down, 70% on 2nd down, and 100% on 3rd/4th down.

F Dez. The guy took an enormous dump on the entire organization when we cut him. Why would it be smart to bring a guy like that back?

True -- Dez was finished long before he left Dallas. Especially during his last year, he had lost what speed he ever had, couldn't get separation and if that wasn't enough, he roundly criticized the staff and some of the players as well. He certainly burned his bridges behind him, before and after he left.

and yet we are ok with Randy Gregory playing here? Hes been taking dumps on this team since he got here, hes hardly played and hardly produced. At least Dez performed well while he was here

I don't care to have either guy back.

Dez in his prime performed exceptionally well. Unfortunately, he's roughly half a decade removed from being that guy. Once his physical advantages began to fade following the foot (and other) injuries in 2015, he simply wasn't able to get separation anymore or out-athlete the guy across from him. He didn't put the work in to master the craft of being an NFL receiver, he simply was more gifted athletically than most others are and it showed once that disappeared.

He'd be worthless to us at this point, IMO, but I loved his contributions for this franchise while he was younger. No different than Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, or any other washed up former player.
