Before I jump on Taco, I really would like to know why the Cowboys are not even activating him? He actually looked decent in the preseason games. And if you wanted to trade him, then why not activate him and let him play a little? Give teams the impression he has value, even if its 3rd or 4th round pick value. By not activating him it sends a message that he is a problem or he can;t play, especially for a team like Dallas that is missing a DE on suspension and not showing much of a pass rush. My guess is Taco will be cut on Wednesday. To think we could have had Watt.

And my next question is, are they doing the same thing to Hill? Hopefully they activate him at some point and get him some plays.

It is very likely that Taco isn't performing well in practice. We've heard multiple times that he doesn't practice hard. You send the absolute wrong message if a guy who dogs it in practice is active every game.

Hill is a different case. He needs some time to grow and learn the 3 tech at this level. If he was ready to plug in as a starter, he'd have gone way higher.

I get where he is coming from. He just wants to play and he's not being given that opportunity. The preseason he had suggested he was ready to finally be a contributor to this team but then he was inactive the first two games. His frustration is understandable and I would lash out too if my employer was messing with my career like that. He just wants to be treated right.

Preseason means jack...………...do it in practice going against Tyron Smith, Zach Martin, Travis Frederick, ect…..

Maybe then the coaches will let you suit up. This snowflake apparently thinks he is entitled to play, he doesn't realize you have to earn your playing time. And you dont earn playing time by beating a couple of jags in preseason that are currently working at Home Depot right now, you earn playing time by beating the first teamers in practice...……….which Taco obviously cant...……….ergo, why the coaches think he sucks.

what did the tweet say

It was a tweet where Steven Jones said Taco was a healthy scratch because he doesn't have any position flex.

Taco responded with "Free Me".

Obviously this is Taco's way of asking Stephen Jones for a trade and that he doesn't want to be on the team anymore.

I don't mean to hurt your delicate disposition but you are so wrong. But thanks for sharing your opinion. No matter how misguided it may be, I still value your take on things. Taco did do it at practice against Tyron Smith. I saw him have a great practice the week of the Texans game. The coaches were loving it. Taco is on the trading block so they don't want him to get hurt before a trade happens. BTW, the phrase is "doesn't mean jack" not "means jack". No charge for the grammar lesson, tough guy. ;)

Odd thing is he is very supportive on Twitter with his teammates.

And of course, he was the originator of the HOT BOYZ moniker.

You said the team was not treating him right by not playing him and messing around with his career and that you understood where he was coming from because he just wants to contribute to the team. Now you are saying the team is not playing him because they want to trade him.

The question you seem not to be able to grasp is "if the coaches were thrilled with him in preseason and "loving it", then why is he on the trade block to begin with? Why would they want to trade a player that they love?

Maybe you should have spent more time taking critical thinking classes instead of grammar classes...………...just saying;)

Yes, I presented two perspectives. This should show you the conflict occurring on the team. First was Taco's perspective (not being treated right) then there is the teams perspective (put him on the trading block). The FO had already made the decision to trade him before the preseason games got started. The coaches were thrilled with him because what they were seeing in practice was an indication they were going to get something good from him on tape during the upcoming Texans game. Getting another good game of him on tape would help the FO shop him around once the season starts and he is on the trading block. If you don't get all this going on then maybe you are the one that needs to work on your critical thinking.

There was a tweet about Stephen Jones saying Taco is on the bench because of position flex. Taco responded saying it was bs. The tweet has since been deleted. I took a picture but idk how to post here.

Edit: Actually, the entire "Free me" tweet thread was deleted.

This is beginning to feel like Al Davis & Marcus Allen with Stephen Jones as Al Davis.

For those that don't know, Al Davis forced the coaches to basically bench Marcus Allen because Davis was very irritated with him. It started with Allen holding out and nobody's certain of the exact reason beyond that. Davis would not just cut or trade him but instead minimized his playing time in an attempt to "ruin" his career.

And you know this how Nostradamus?

And even if this is true, it begs the question, "If he was killing it in practice, as you say, then why would they want to trade him in the first place?"

You still have not answered this question...…….do teams typically see a guy just tearing it up in practice and think, "hey, lets trade him!"
