How good do we think the 2-0 Cowboys are?

We should be too full of ourselves. Seeing a promising roster play up to it's potential (especially on offense) is something many of us have been dieing to see for years. I understand the need to readjust some opinions about certain players may make some apprehensive. As always I'm here for perspective and laughs.
We had a top 5 offense in 2016. And a championship caliber offense in 2014.

It’s early to be labeling this offense the greatest in years. It has potential to be greater. I’m just pumping the brakes until we see more.

I see nothing wrong with enjoying the easy wins until the harder ones come along. I think most of us feel the same. Teams like Green Bay, Philly and Minnesota might bring us back to reality to some extent, although, whatever happens will either cause some necessary adjustments or just add delight in what we are and have become. For now, let's enjoy reaping the benefits of winning while we can and allow the present to teach us what must be done to go on to arrive at being good enough to continue winning. We're on the right track. Let's savor it and continue to build upon it.

Definately better than the packers seachickens and whiners. packers had to fight against two bad division rivals, we beat ours down. niners beatdown two pathetic embarassing franchises almost deviod of talent. seachickens hardly beat the has been steelers. ravens beat the worst team the nfl has ever seen and then hardly beat the inept cardinals.

The chiefs and pats are definately better but the chiefs have issues on defense
I’d rate the Vikings and Bears well ahead of Skins and Giants. Winning at Pittsburgh definitely a bigger achievement. The rest can be argued. Time will tell. Skins might not be as bad. Regardless , we haven’t played a contender yet. We will know more in October. Great start but pump the brakes.

Nothing at all wrong with it. This thread was for those I’ve seen and heard in media last 24 hours ready to have us playing in February without more evidence against true contenders.

Understood -- we're fans of a team who are hungry to see the return of winning ways. Getting overly confident would be a serious mistake. I'm reasonably confident that Garrett will be preaching the cause of rightful thinking, so as to avoid the pitfalls of taking opponents for granted. That has been something that has haunted the Cowboys in the past. Hopefully, good sense and good training will prevail to cure our mistakes of the past.

Nevertheless, it's quite encouraging to see the talent that's at our disposal at present. To be honest, that and a desire to be the best should prevail in the end. So far, so good. Kellen Moore has the offense clicking again at a rate that seems very promising. That, combined with a good defense is a good place to start. Let's see where that takes us. Hopefully, it'll be at least a conference title or more.

It’s being widely discussed with our two dominating offensive performances against two of our division rivals that we are one of the best teams in the league at this point.

How good are we? And can we really measure up with the opponents we’ve faced?

Are we as good or better than the 2-0 Rams? The 2-0 Packers, Seahawks or 49ers right now in NFC?

How about the 2-0 Patriots, Chiefs or Ravens?

I’d suggest we tone down the rhetoric until we beat someone with a winning record. We’re off to a good start. It’s been fun but I’d be careful becoming too full of ourselves just yet.

The "Dream" Mob has taken over this site.

Even Humor is a no no with these guys.
Reality will come but I highly doubt reason will follow here.
Anyway for whatever its worth its simply to early to determine the worth of our team as our opponents so far are terrible esp on defense.
May the Gridiron Gods be on our side!!!

youre probably right that the queens and bears are better than skins and giants but not by much I exaggerated some lol. cousins is complete dog excrement he has 2 td's and 2 picks trubisky has 0 td's and 1 pick keenum has 5 tds 0 picks and his rating is like 110 hes playing way over the heads of cousins and trubisky. the skins have talent it just seems nothing ever goes their way recently.
Pittsburgs isnt the pittsburg of old. They got humiliated week 1 and clearly a win there isnt some special feat like it may have been, youre over crediting them based on reputation. thebackup qb for squeelers was 12/19 for 100 something yards on them with 2 tds and a pick.

The offense is elite. The defense is average. I am concerned because sooner or later we will play an elite defense who will stymie our offense. Good defenses usually slow down good offenses. If our defense continues to give up 20 points, a real good defense can shut our offense down to 17 points and we lose.

To me, the year goes as far as the defense goes. Right now, the defense is underwhelming.
Spot on my friend.

I’ll say it again...spot on.

This forum is often extremist in a direction whether it’s a Lynch Mob or Dream Mob. I enjoy taking on the status quo if it's where my passions steer me. Like walking thru a field of land mines. lol

I believe we can beat any team with the talent we have however in reality it's to early to say as we have played two average/ below average teams.

Offense: A+ so far
Looks sharp and a 180 of last year.
We have one of the best OL, RB, recieving corps in football. I will hold my judgment on Dak as the oline has given him unreal time to hold the ball thus far. Still throws behind wide open receivers WAY to often.

Defense:
Run defense since the rams game last year is non existent.
Turnovers? Turnovers? Turnovers?

Now going into the playoffs:
1. Jason Garret
2. How we make adjustments mid game
I like your enthusiasm but this team is not beating NE. Not in Foxboro.

If they do I’m buying you lunch. Just PM me with your address and send me a photo copy of the receipt. Oh, and a $30 cap on the lunch

I think we're a SB team on offense.
But, In the end, since I think our O can score along with the other high powered Os, the winner will be determined by the best DEFENSE. Not sure we're as good there as some of the other teams we'll face.
BUT since our O is playing lights out, if we don't make it to the SB because of our D, then every D coach needs to go! We don't need another wasted year!!!!!!!!
Find a good O with a good D and that is who we need to prepare extra hard for.

We're really good. Capable of making the SB, even with this defense.

But the Patriots are in another class from everyone else. They are our offense with a very good defense.

No idea. All I know is we can blow out inferior teams something that we usually struggle to do.

If the Defense rounds into form, this is a legit Super Bowl contender: one of the best 3 or 4 teams in the NFL that is completely capable of winning it all.

If it does not improve, we are an 11-5 team with a good chance at being upset in the WC or Divisional Round.

You're one of the more reasonable people on here. I'm encouraged and I don't think there is anything to complain about, about the current cowboy's play. But i find it laughable when people start thinking super bowl and MVP after our 2-0 came against some of the worse teams this season in the NFL. I'm not going to complain against a win, but geez people ... keep it real.

This team needs to take advantage of every break it gets. Brees won't be playing when we play the Saints. That's a must win, IMHO. I think we're pretty dang good, though.

The WR's are running routes that get them open. Big change. Dak is releasing the ball much sooner. Huge change. This is due almost strictly to scheme, though talent is definitely necessary to make it happen. Running plays are more competent. The whole field is being utilized. And plays are being called to take advantage of what the D is leaving weak. Huge, huge differences.

Dak looks poised and confident with this group of receivers . He now has TRUST in the scheme and personnel to execute the plan, before at times he was hesitant because he could not trust his receivers. Guys like Witten and Cobb inspire confidence to pull the trigger because they have experience and are where they are supposed to be
